It’s interesting at times to see the various hood modifications to the early CJ’s.
INFORMATION FROM SELLER:
1952 jeep cj2a. Has a Buick v6 in it. It does run just needs new carburetor and fuel tank cleaned out.. I can get it fired up just to hear it run and prove engine is good. But won’t run long. Title says I think 1972 but the vins match. Dont know why they put that for the year. Has glass packs so it needs exhaust it is very loud.. also needs brakes redone. The master cylinder is rusted closed so will probably need all new system?? Message me for more info

So this is a neat one, if you start to look at the small details this seems to work out to a 1949. It has the second body tag, listed at 17807, I can not make out the larger SN tag, ending in “205”. But it has some neat things. The Winch is pretty massive. So neat things on this one.

Not sure on value here, any ideas on price? The seller has a ton of farm stuff so I feel they know the value here I’m just curious, not saying its high priced. There are a bunch of things that you narrow down on price as you buy a few and find a use for or they sit you tend to learn the pricing of certain things as you go.

This could be a good deal for someone looking for a Hood, may not be a perfect set up for an 100pt restoration deal, but overall prices are up there for comparable with the Willys stamping.

Looks like a neat project.

Information from seller:

I have a 70% restored 1949 Jeep CJ3a. Frame was sandblasted and coated in POR15. Original go devil that is rebuilt. Completely rebuilt transmission and transfer case. Front axel completely rebuilt with disc brakes. I just don’t have time to finish it. Have a new born and no time! I wish for someone to get it back on the road. I know I’ll never get the $10k I have invested out of her, but I am entertaining all offers. I have receipts and lists of parts purchased for it. I have all parts. Just make me an offer, willing to trade for the right thing. Just let me know! Thanks! Edit: the tub is not currently on the jeep. The tub is rough. I was going to purchase a re-pop tub for it. But it is fixable.

Don’t know a whole bunch about it other than I bought it from friend of a friend who’s grandfather was original owner, have bill of sale from his daughter who was in charge of the trust , couldn’t find the title when he passed away , all original as far as I know , was going to restore it but have to many projects going on right now . Motor turns over but have not ran it or drove it . Will need to be flat towed or trailered or can deliver as well.

Might be worth a look and see if some layers can be peeled back on this one. Watch your fingers in that winch. Has hard top. Not sure what you can haul on the hood and still see but its set up for some pack out gear.

1952 Jeep Wrangler · Suv · Driven 111,111 miles 52 or 53 willys cj 2A Hard top and doors- (rare and hard to find) motor was swapped for a slant 6 by previous owner. Comes with old school chain/gear driven winch New spark plugs and fuel pump. Needs a battery but it will run.
