Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (10/17/2019) This is an electric powered jeep that’s listed as a 1942 GPW. It’s actually on a 3A chassis. The tub has MB tool lids, but it has the other hallmarks of a GPW body (square indentation for the tool box lock button and the GPW rear seat setup).

“This jeep is a real original 1942 gpw ford military tub hood and fenders On real original civilian cj3a frame and running gear.
I just regd it. It is fully street legal but just like the original its not a freeway veh.
It has a brand new ELECTRIC Motor.
And brand new duracel batterys.
The motor puts out 77hs power.
The Orig motor only had 60hs power.
It Runs great. It’ll do about 35 And it doesnt like hills but It can be tweaked to do higher rpms or have higher torque. I just started messing with that but im slow at it because of a condition with my hands. I will change this paragraph when i have it dialed in right.
It Wheels good and does great on flat ground. I have a wheelin test hill here i can show u on. extreme hills use lower gears and it does good . It’ll do it but u have to Know your gears to get the most out of it. It takes a little getting used to.

This might be a CJ-3A rather than a CJ-2A.

“This is an original Jeep with original paint. It’s in excellent condition. Though it has been sitting in my yard for months, it starts right up and runs great. This Jeep has new tires, exhaust, seats, as well as many other new parts and was very well taken care of by the previous owner.
I shipped this one across the country from SC…It was that nice!
This jeep has a heater, half canvas top with rear curtain, many new parts. Has original PTO, serial number indicates (GB) which is a farm jeep designation. Very rare only a few thousand of them made.
Low original mileage this jeep has not seen much work. It was used primarily as a toy.”

(09/15/2018) Mike’s selling this rare CJ-V35/U military CJ-3A.
““This is a very Rare 1950 Willys CJV35/U Waterproof radio Jeep. Only 1000 of these were built in may of 1950 for the USMC. This was the only Military Contract Willys Radio Jeep between WW2 and Korea. Only a handful of these survive. These Jeeps were built on the Willys line side by side with CJ-3A’s but were upgraded at the Willys Factory for the USMC Contract to include a deep water fording kit, waterproof underhood components and other improvements that would later end up on the M-38. Included with this Jeep are many hard to find original parts. Tow Hooks, 2 Lifting Rings, Fuel Tank, Tool Box, Fording Kit, Air Cleaner, Floor Mount Generator casting, Headlight Rings, Pintle Hitch, PTO. The Jeep is running and driving and has new brakes installed. This is S/N CJV-10824. The body is all original except the Hood. The Drivetrain is all original including the V prefix engine that was only in this series of Jeeps. The Body is rough but restorable. The jeep runs, drives shifts and stops. Clean AZ Title. Ready to go to a new home. Email me a phone number and i will contact you.”

Based on the serial number, I’d say this is a 1950 Cj-3a, not a 1948 CJ-2A.
