This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “For Sale: 1949 Willys Jeep CJ3A. $25,000.XX. (Twenty Five Thousand dollars). This is an all original Willys that was meticulously restored over the course of 2 years by myself. It was a frame off restoration down to every last nut and bolt. There is no bondo or fiberglass or rust on this baby. Everything works perfectly as it was originally designed to work and operate. The engine was completely rebuilt, the transfer case, the clutch all rebuilt.
The electrical harness was replaced with a new exact duplicate. The exhaust is an exact duplicate of the original custom made in stainless steel. The original carburetor was rebuilt and it starts on the coldest of winter days with the original 6 volt electrical system. The battery sits in its proper location in a case that looks like a vintage battery but actually contains a modern jell cell battery; one of the only minor alterations to the original. The battery has a turn disconnect on the cable so that when not in use I leave it hooked up to a 6 volt drip charge.
Has at least one patch plus some dings and dents.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Bill, the newest owner, believes this was a 1948 CJ-2A.
I think I’ve seen this hardtop, but can’t place it.
“Willys CJ2A (Jeep) 4wheel drive. Fresh restoration, Arizona vehicle, body solid and straight. Has 1964 Chevy Nova 4 cylinder 153 cubic inch 4 cylinder, tilt wheel, new wiring, radio, heater, custom made topper, 3 speed with factory option overdrive, roll bar, runs and drives excellent, fun to drive.”

Steering box rebuilt and other steering components replaced. Brake shoes,lines,wheel cylinders and master cylinder replaced also springs and shocks. 12000 pound winch installed. Per Grundy classic auto insurance jeep has a replacement value of 22000.00 dollars. Please call me with any questions.”

It’s still a bit of a project.
“Project CJ3A for sale. Purchased 3 years ago and have restored it a long way from what it was. Still not road ready, but runs very well and brake system completely redone.
Wheels & tires purchased new in 2015 and have <100 total miles on them. Only have ever driven this Jeep up and down my private road.
Engine is not original to this 3A. It is from a 40’s MB.
Tub has patchwork from previous owner as well as some spotty welds. It is not so much rust as it is just wear and tear over the years. At quick glance it looks relatively clean but under close inspection you can see the patches and holes.
Included is a box of new and used parts I have collected and been meaning to install over the past few years. I removed the roll bar off the back a while ago but that is included as well. 4 brand new shocks also included.
I don’t have the right resources to do this job the way it should be done, which is why I am moving on from it. In the right hands it will be a great project.
I have a lot of information and records recording the money, parts and work that have been put into the jeep. Email or message for more info and details”
