Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Ted’s selling this 3A that includes a winch, overdrive, and a bed extension.
“For sale is a 1951 CJ3A Willys Jeep. It has been re powered with a period correct Chevy 265 V8 which I believe to be a late 50s motor. Motor has been adapted to the original Jeep three speed transmission and model 18 transfer-case. Motor runs well but could use a tune up and original Rochester carb could use a rebuilding at some point. Choke is a little finicky and I dont think the older carbs gaskets agree with the new gas were burning. Jeep runs ,drives and stops. Shifts through all gears as it should. Continue reading
