Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. James has been busy attending the College of Mines in Golden, Colorado. But, he had time to drop us a note. He writes, “I saw this Gem today. I was on my way back home from school while this drove past me. It’s a 1950 Willys CJ3A with an overdrive unit just like my old 3a. It is in amazing condition and runs like a champ. It’s good to see it still on the roads in Golden. For a moment I thought it was my old 3A! ”

“I have a mid 40s jeep willy I beleave its a1945 its only 2wd its got a motor and trans out of a pinto and the front coil spring suspension with pwr disk brakes rack and Pinyin steering this thing runs and drives great starts up with just a tap of the switch i may have it all painted army green this weekend it could make a really cool rat rod or just a toy not really wanting to get rid of it but just seeing what’s out there will sell for $1500 firm will not take any less or trade I have seen them on here in pieces for that much just call or text me if u want to know more”

“I have a project for sale. 1948 CJ2A with title. New parts, rebuilt engine, transmission and transfer, new military tires with rims. Enough parts to almost build two jeeps. 1952 CJ3A is for parts only. Frames are in good condition, tubs need some welding but are usable. Extra l 134 engines and transfer cases included. Don’t have time for this project anymore.”
