This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This fiberglass bodied jeep includes an overdrive. It hasn’t been touched in a while, but there appears to be value here.
“53 Willys Jeep. Project. Set up for small Chevy. 3 speed manual tranny. Dana 18 with Warn O/D. Fiberglass body. Stock Dana axles. Stock Willys frame. Has not ran in probably decades. Purchased by my late Father in the early 90’s, and put where it sits. Original Vin plate intact. Hasn’t been tagged since 1988. Definitely a project. Will NOT part out.
Was told the little Chevy in it, is a 327. But I have no way to confirm it. If interested, you would need to come look at it. Like I said, it’s a project. It’s being sold as is. Have not been able to find the title, but I am looking. It existed at one time. $1000 obo. The Vin alone is worth….”

(02/18/2013) I believe the body is fiberglass and the front clip is metal. This has a rear PTO I believe, too.
“This Willys Jeep is ready to go anywhere, has the original 4 cylinder godevil in it, PTO works great, 2 new front seats, new tires, front half original, rear half fiberglass, it looks great and runs great lots of fun to drive and gets thumbs up every where we go, Is converted to a 12 volt system. asking 8500, clear title in hand, Thanks.”

In 1950 Provincetown added this CJ-3A and pumper trailer to their equipment.
The caption under this page reads: Provincetown Engine No.6 – c.1950, Willy’s Jeep with Maxim 500 gpm trailer served as Engine 6 from c.1950 into the 1970’s. The pump trailer may have been made by Maxim, as they made many during WWII, probably 500 gpm.

This CJ-3A looks nicely restored.
“I’ve got a nice original 49 willys cj3a jeep to trade. Frame has been sandblasted and painted, Floors and braces properly replaced with 16 gauge steel and factory mounts.
new stuff includes:

included but not pictured is a newer complete top and doors in good condition and a period correct pto winch
I assembled it with mostly stainless hardware. It’s a pretty cool old jeep, It is slow like you would expect from 1940’s technology but it is a fun ride. I want to trade it for a decent Harley big twin bike.I value it at $10,000 I would trade for a really good shovelhead or evo bike. A bobber or chopper style bike would flip my switch. might consider other cool (a rusty pickup or ford taurus etc is not cool) trades if it makes sense. whatcha got?”

The front bumper has been updated, but the rest of this looks solid.

The only thing that I believe that is missing are the front seats. Extra parts include axels, a transmission and transfer case, windshield frame and front hood.
