About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
This has an unusual rig on the back. Lotso rust here.
“Dont know many details about it. Its rusty, but ran back in the spring of this year. Has original 4 cy. 3 spd running gear with stock axles. Has lots of rust. Would most likely run again if you rebuilt the carburetor and filed down the points and put a battery in it. Has Super Swamper Bogger Tires-30 x 12.50 x 15 with lots of tread left. Tires are too wide on the rims and you cannot cut the Jeep very far either way. $350.00 cash gets it all.”
“MUST SEE!!!! ATTENTION HUNTERS: This is a 1952 CJ3A jeep with a Ramsey 8000 lb. electric winch. It would make a good hunting jeep or just fun to drive! Runs good. Body in good condition. Questions welcomed. E-mail questions or call 575-536-3826.”
Here’s a very rare Willys. If the serial number is correct, it is 1 of 2 known of this model, though it has been ‘re accessorized” into a standard CJ-3A.
My investigation into this topic started tonight after Dan spotted this ad. He said, ‘check out the serial number because I think it is a Tractor Jeep’.
I copied there first part of the serial number (451-GD1) and pasted it into Google and hoped for the best. Seconds later, I had my answer. It turns out, the CJ-3A.com website had all the info I needed. There’s an entire page about both the Jeep Tractor and the Farm Jeep, both ‘farm’ versions of the CJ-3A introduced in 1951 and designed specifically for farms.
So, the next time you check out a CJ-3A, double check that serial number.
“This is a solid and strong jeep. It has a unique serial number – 451-GD1 10036.
Engine is a L-134 “Go Devil” – 4 cyl iron block.
Transmission – Dana 18
Front Axle – Dana 25
Rear Axle – Dana 44″
I’m not sure if this runs or not. It does have a bobcat fiberglass hood though.
“The is a project that could be really cool….. It comes with a new body, new 36″ TSL’s, centered dana 44 rear with lockright, dana 35 front with lockright, 3 racing style seats, painless wiring harness, new aluminum radiator, soft top with doors, and a few other things. The price is $2800”
This has an unusual approach to creating a dash for a fiberglass body.
“Selling my ’51 cj. It has a 225 v6, original t90 3 speed transmission, spicer 18 transfer case, dana 44 rear axle. The front axle is an upgraded dana 30. Everything works great just had carb and ignition tuned. Body is fiberglass. Asking $6500, but price is negotiable. Will possibly consider trade for toyota fj 60 or other toyota landcruisers”
(09/21/2010) I have never heard of a middle seat for a CJ-3A. I did a search, but couldn’t find anything.
“I have for sale a 1951 Willy’s Overland CJ3A Jeep. It is a 4×4 with Hi-Lo range. The motor is a 289 Mustang Special. The jeep has been restored with original paint color inside and out. Mostly all original outside of the motor. It is equipped with:
Ramsey PTO winch
2 v-belt pulleys on the drive shaft (very rare)
Heater
Wipers
Gauges including a tach – all work
Lights and turn signals
Tow bar
Driver and Passenger seats plus the small seat in between (This is very rare)
New exhaust system
New brakes
Tires are “Vogue Custom Built Tyre” and are steel belted radials clean to the rims.
Canopy top was made for a sunshade
A new Kayline Convertible top – never used
This jeep is one of a kind. Like new condition with plenty of power. Contact Charley at 417-926-5846″
(06/11/2010) It looks in good shape, despite the odd paint job.
“I have a jeep willys cj3a. I think it is a 51 but not 100% on that. It runs needs a carb tune up I have to have the choke out a little to run smooth. My daughters and I drive it all around our property we love this thing it will go anywhere. It is all original even has the Willys Overland from Toledo ohio metal plate still on the dash. It also still has the metal plates on the dash that tell you how to shift it. I hate to get rid of it but I have no choice have another baby on the way and need the money. Everything works on it 4 wheel drive high and low. We hop in it and drive it alot and we have alot of fun in it but it has to go. Being all original it would make a great rebuild or just one you can jump in and drive the way it is. would also make a great hunting buggy i used it for that to. I am asking $3700”
