Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (03/15/2012) This looks in good shape. It is a pretty early CJ-3A.
“Good condition. New floor pans. All original, including 6 volt charging system. New battery. Runs well. Does not burn oil. Tires need replacing. Soft top and doors, but no rear side panels. Odometer says 1851, but I don’t think it is correct; I have no idea of real miles.”
The jeep looks solid. I respectfully disagree with the claim that “it will never lose its value”, as we all know by the many “ran when parked” descriptions of jeeps. I would say they will all lose value unless maintained, which is an investment of time and money.
“1949 willys jeep. Has been restored. Almost ever part you can think of has been replaced, rebuilt or restored .Has oringmal flat head 4 cyl. T-90 3 speed. front, rear diffs have be rebuilt transmission to. Engine is stock and runs and purs like a kitten. Jeep has Military tires that are brand new including spare. 16″ wheels. Brand new best top with an extra set of doors. In side of jeep has been rhino lined. Has new heater with defroster vents. This jeep needs nothing. You can drive it in a parade, take it four wheeling this thing will go just about anywhere, or just cruise it around town. Tow it anywhere with its own tow bar. I have lots of pics of this jeep, but its a must see. It gets attention where ever I go. If you want something that will never loose value and is different than this is the jeep for you. “Had an original flat 4cyl in it, is now ready to bolt up a small block chevy motor. Adaptor and bell housing come with the jeep. I have spent some time and money building to drive around town but getting married and the wife says it has to go. Does have Chevy disk brake conversion on the front axle with steel braided hoses. Installed WARN overdrive for more ability to drive around. Have redone fuel system with a custom fuel cell, liner in the back of the jeep along with new steel braided lines. Interior has new Best Top seats along with seat belts that have been added, does have GRANT removable steering wheel. Has newer Best Top soft top and soft doors. Exterior does have newer paint but has been subject to minor weather conditions so paint has a couple blemishes, hood has been modified for pro-scoop as pictured and is included with this auction. Has newer exhaust with flamethrowers built into the custom side exit exhaust. Do have corresponding paperwork for after market components added to vehicle. All paperwork goes with the vehicle.

From the decals, it appears to be a UN Farm Vehicle stationed along Route 66. How it reached Canada is less certain.

(04/11/2012) Well, the steering wheel looks salvageable.
