NOTE: Nate needs NOS Amp and Temp Gauge for his new CJ-3A (or ones in good shape. If you have them, you can email him at bolducn20 [at] aol.com).
You might remember Nate’s last two rebuilds. Well, he managed to find a stock, solid CJ-3A in the Northeast. Kudos to him for that find. It looks great.

Nate writes, “Anyways, the one I picked up a month or so ago is truly a rare jeep for the northeast and one that I have been searching for. The body has very little rot, all the original wiring is intact and every thing works, lights, brake light, horn, and vacuum wiper. It runs great also. I had to do a little tinkering with it to get it running good, just as good as my ’53. It also has decent breaks now too. It was missing some parts that I located like a passenger hand wiper, battery hold down, matching ’49 license plates, one seat pan and a spare tire/carrier. I added the dualmatics.
Only things I need for it are two original gauges and it is back to 100% original. The ones I need are an amp and temp gauge. If anyone has both, please let me know.
We think it came from Tennesee. On the tailgate, very faintly it says “DAVIS HOLLOW SECURITY PATROL”. We researched that and there is a seasonal campground in Tennessee by that name. There were other places too, all down south. Someone at one time painted the entire thing, and I mean everything (even the grease) with the red primer. The original color was Luzon red which can be seen in many places. Makes me want to remove the primer to bring out the original paint. Even the frame is still black in a few places!”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
What is that on the passenger side, an emergency brake? For $3400 this looks like a good price.
” Military flat fender style jeep. 4X4 with a solid, good condition drivetrain. 134 c.i.d. L-Head 4 cyl. engine that runs strong. The speedo reads 01851, but I don’t have any idea if it is original miles and turned over once or not. Powerful PTO winch that works great. Tow bar attached to the front bumper. New floor panels. Soft top and soft doors included, but it is not a full enclosure. Body is in great shape-no rust. Spare tire carrier has been moved to tailgate and the tailgate is tack welded closed. Everything is original except the front bumper (has a grader blade welded to the original bumper) and the tail lights are replacements. Tires are sun rotted and not highway safe. Clear title. I can deliver the jeep within 100 miles, but no further. Cash or cashier’s check for full amount at the time of pick-up and title transfer.”
This is a project.

“52 Willys, has small block V8, rebuilt in 2006, less than 10k miles on it, warn overdrive and transfer case, Great summer project, tons of potential!! Breaks my heart to get rid of it, but don’t have the time or money to fix it. Call with questions,”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $300

“I have a 1951 Jeep CJ3A chassis that has a 1953 CJ3B engine with low running time since a rebuild. As of right now it turns over but wont start. It is a project I have had for a long time but dont have the time to work on it. It has no body tub or fenders but does have the windshield and the hood. I also have a soft top for it. It also has a fairly new distributor, coil and a rebuilt starter. This past winter I mounted the seats and gas tank to move it around. Im asking 300 obo cash and it will have to be picked up. Shoot me an email if you are interested or have any questions! Thanks!”
It seems to have some good parts, but ‘drives like crap’. Now that’s an honest seller.
“52 willys. Chevy 406. 4speed. Straight through t-case. 44 rearend 4.88 gears. Disk brakes. Power steering. Buy the whole thing or parts. Drives like crap. Very hard to control. Please call 541-679-4444. No texts od emails.”
