About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
David and his friends transport themselves back in time each each fall by getting out their jeeps, heading to the woods, and cleaning brush, trees and other obstacles out of the way in preparation for winter snowmobiling in New York.
David’s owned his (the gray ’51 CJ-3A) for six years. His friends have owned their 1947 CJ-2A and 1949 CJ-3A for about 25 years. Thanks for sharing David.
Except for those funky turn signals on the front grille, this is a great looking stock jeep. Jim’s getting this running again and then will decide whether to sell it to someone who will love it. Otherwise, he’ll keep it and decide what to do with it.
“I pulled this CJ3A (vin 3J28941) out of a little mining town called Silverton. Its bone stock, 6 volt and appears to have never been touched, never had a roll bar, has a rare dealer installed all aluminum hardtop and doors. A little update on this rig: I rebuilt the carb, flushed the tank, blew the lines, new fuel pump etc and we got it started! Not bad for not being run for 10 years! Motor sounds excellent, no smoke, oil pressure is 60 psi! Now for a complete brake overhaul and then it will be driven for the first time in more 10 years! Anybody want to buy a rare all aluminum hardtop and doors?”

These are both running jeeps, with the CJ-2A’s motor recently having been rebuilt. If I only had a two jeep trailer … hmmm.

Check out the top on this flattie. It looks really well executed. I wonder if the windows roll down a little or not.

“1952 Willys is complete with 12 volt conv, newly remanufactured engine ($1000 in machine shop receipts available)under the hood, new clutch, throwout bearing, etc. Needs re-installation of manifolds, distributor, electrical to drive off. Jeep has 4 wheel drive along with the power take off, a CJ-2 type fold-down windshield, and a ‘hard top’ from a later model available to keep the weather out. Some rust but no rotted out floor pans. Good Texas title and current registration, Complete maintenance/assembly manual on CD, must sell.”
Jiim writes, “Ironically, was already sort of OD green when I got it. That nasty bench seat weighed about 250 lbs when I pulled it out, kept thinking it was still bolted in somewhere, nope, just that heavy…”
I don’t think the pictures quite do this justice. Newer tires would help and finishing the restoration (parking lights for example) would help this CJ-3A.
“Massive restoration. This is the original body which has been removed from the frame, restored with zinc alloy body fill then zinc coated to prevent future rusting. Newly painted a vibrant pearl orange. The interior is done in rugged black bedliner. All seats reupholstered in a nice black vinyl. Includes the rare back seat. Black Besttop Soft Top included. New wiring harness. Warn Winch included. Two sets of wheels. One set of matching orange wheels with radials and one set of black wheels with NDT non-directional tires (old style military). Well documented restoration. See my ad on autotrader for larger pictures”
Here’s a running CJ-3A for only $1000. Yeah, looks like it needs some work.
“for sale is my 1950 willys jeep this is a great old jeep that runs and drives very good has brand new military tires tires are $500 alone the jeep does need some brake work”
“Willys is in good shape with great running motor. Motor has Willys stamp on head, however I’m not sure if it is the original. Has an aftermarket carb, I do have original for new owner to install. Drives great and idles fine. Shifts smooth through all gears. Good power for a small flat four. Electrical has been converted to 12 volt by a past owner. Everything seems original except for the hood. I think that is an aftermarket steel hood with the Willys logo painted on. Small leak coming from front seal on the diff. Nothing major. No other leaks or issues…..”
I need a better look at the body, but this might restore pretty well.
“1951 Jeep CJ3a. New flat head engine, new 11″ brakes and new battery. Needless to say, it runs and drives great! The little girl needs a new loving home. $2000, Mike 541-667-7237. Please call, I have limited access to the internet.”
