(03/10/2010) “This rare find — a completely handmade, completely stainless steel Jeep — was commissioned in the Philippines in 1981 and custom built by then-President Ferdinand Marcos. It was later purchased by a well-known national television news correspondent, who then had this one of a kind Jeep shipped back to Los Angeles. It has never been driven. With less than 10 miles on the odometer, this classic style “Eisenhower” Jeep is a vintage car collector’s dream. The exterior is like new; it’s been protected in a fully-covered, temperature-controlled garage since its trip to the United States. To our knowledge this is the only Jeep of its kind in the U.S. The brushed-exterior is in supreme condition. The engine is a rebuilt 1953 Willy’s V-8 that needs only minor service.
