UPDATE: Price dropped to $6500
(09/21/2010) I have never heard of a middle seat for a CJ-3A. I did a search, but couldn’t find anything.
“I have for sale a 1951 Willy’s Overland CJ3A Jeep. It is a 4×4 with Hi-Lo range. The motor is a 289 Mustang Special. The jeep has been restored with original paint color inside and out. Mostly all original outside of the motor. It is equipped with:
Ramsey PTO winch
2 v-belt pulleys on the drive shaft (very rare)
Heater
Wipers
Gauges including a tach – all work
Lights and turn signals
Tow bar
Driver and Passenger seats plus the small seat in between (This is very rare)
New exhaust system
New brakes
Tires are “Vogue Custom Built Tyre” and are steel belted radials clean to the rims.
Canopy top was made for a sunshade
A new Kayline Convertible top – never used
This jeep is one of a kind. Like new condition with plenty of power. Contact Charley at 417-926-5846″
UPDATE: Still Available
(06/11/2010) It looks in good shape, despite the odd paint job.
“I have a jeep willys cj3a. I think it is a 51 but not 100% on that. It runs needs a carb tune up I have to have the choke out a little to run smooth. My daughters and I drive it all around our property we love this thing it will go anywhere. It is all original even has the Willys Overland from Toledo ohio metal plate still on the dash. It also still has the metal plates on the dash that tell you how to shift it. I hate to get rid of it but I have no choice have another baby on the way and need the money. Everything works on it 4 wheel drive high and low. We hop in it and drive it alot and we have alot of fun in it but it has to go. Being all original it would make a great rebuild or just one you can jump in and drive the way it is. would also make a great hunting buggy i used it for that to. I am asking $3700”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $800.
This might be a good parts jeep. The windshield and frame look good.
“NO TITLE. 1949-51 Willys Jeep CJ-3A. Last registered in 1988. According to the guy I bought it from, it was being used for pulling a brush hog (mowing) until recently and the last registered owner was in the West Texas (Abilene) area. Jeep is intact with good windshield, headlight bezels, grill, hood and other parts. Also, engine is dis-assembled but appears to be complete. It is a flathead 4 cyl. As you can see, all tires are on the vehicle and hold air; spare is also mounted on the side and appears that it is new, although weathered. Plenty of good parts available; transmission and transfer case; engine; front and rear axles; tow bar and rear step with trailer hitch, and a PTO. According to my internet research, this was specifically built as a farm use vehicle, hence the PTO and what appears to be a belt drive. I bought this from a friend who became disabled and needed the money, but I have too many other projects to take on this one at this time. Questions? e-mail me.
UPDATE: Brett learned more about this jeep. Check in the comments for more info.
Brett forwarded this CJ-3A. It looks solid, though it will need a few updates to be road legal.
“This is a 1951 Willis Jeep Antique. Has roll bar and canvas top. Good running condition with good tires.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4500
(06/17/2010) It sure looks like there is light rust in some of the corners, but that might be an optical illusion.
“I may regret selling this because I know I will not find another CJ3a in such original, virtually rust free, unmolested condition. This is a numbers matching 1950 Willys Jeep CJ3A with Power Take OFF (PTO) and Koenig hardtop. Almost everthing on the Jeep appears to be original. Even the seats, seat covers, and seat springs all look like the original ones to me. The body is very straight, and virtually rust free, having only surface rust. Floors are solid as well. The frame is perfect, no cut places, or damage anywhere. The hard top is in excellent condition. I started the Jeep a year ago and it ran very well with no smoking. I drove it around and shifted through the gears no problem. I changed the oil and filter, trans oil, T-case oil, and differential oils. It does need all new brakes, master cylinder, and wheel cylinders to be safe to drive. The rear two wheels are original wheels, but the front two are not, so it will need two original wheels, or wheels of your choice if you restore. This Jeep was owned by a farmer in Pacolet SC for 40+ years, and I was told it was stored up in a barn for that time. This would be a very easy restoration. Search the country over and you will not find a survivor like this one, in this condition.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.

The body doesn’t look too bad, but the seller indicates it is. This appears to have been a nice build at some point.
