Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. The seller probably has the model wrong on this.
“1946 Jeep Willys CJ3A. Recently installed 350, in good condition. Recently installed rear brake cylinders. Wiring needs to be finished. In good condition and ready to sell.”
This looks like it might be a good deal. The body and parts look in good shape.

There’s been some unusual customizations to this body.

There’s clearly lots of time and money put into this custom CJ-3A. If the model (cj-3a) is accurate, it’s one of probably several hundred. This has some stainless parts.
“Classic Willys, customized with all the extras. Original 1948 body, 225 Odd-fire V6 1965 Buick engine, T18 truck transmission 4 speed 7:1 ratio deep under. Power steering, power locks front and rear. Stainless steel grill and windshield, chrome rockguards, custom Emiron black paint–lots more. Rebuilt “new” in 1983, 9500 miles since and kept garaged when not in use. Over $24,000 of customized extras plus 4 years of labor. A labor of love and it kills me to part with it, but I need the money. No trades. ”
This appears to have a CJ-3B windshield with a CJ-2A body and maybe a CJ-3A title?
“1952 Willys jeep. Would be a great project or hunting vehicle. Runs but needs a new carb. Has recently been converted to 12 volt. Has the flat head 4cly.(go devil)? Comes with tow bar and tows great. The jeep has some rust and holes but could be patched. Comes with a hard top also, and a extra military hood. UPDATE: Price dropped to $6000
This seller claims this CJ-3A has an aluminum body. These are certainly rare.

This CJ appears in very good condition.

“‘53 Willys Jeep, Model CJ3A, flathead 4 cylinder Jeep engine, 6 volt system, aluminum cab, plow hooked up and will go as package, 44,000 original miles, No brakes, dead battery, Body has some rust, mostly surface, floors and bed are rusted through, cross members are weak. Frame is solid. No title or registration. My father used only for plowing driveway. Was running fine when last parked in garage in 2007 when he became ill and has not been started since. $975 firm”

This sounds like a pretty stock CJ-3A in good condition.

Here’s a flattie crawler out of Georgia.
“1953 Willys CJ3A Jeep. Lots of custom work done to it. I got it in a trade a couple of years ago and haven’t done much with it since. 225 Buick odd-fire V6, rebuilt 3 speed transmission, Spicer 18 transfer case. Wagoneer Dana 44’s front and rear w/5.38:1 gears and full spools, high steer arms up front with high steering. USA6x6 H1 beadlocks w/rubber runflats & 36×12.50 Super Swamper TSL-SX’s with 75-90% tread remaining…. The pictures also show a winch & hilift jack, but they are both gone. Some nice person out there stole them”
