This is a great looking road and trail jeep.

It has the original 3 speed transmission and Dana 18 twin stick transfer case. Dana 44 Rear, 27 Front. Both have been convetered over to 4:27 gears, powerlocks, and 19 spline axles. It did have a warn overdrive but I took it out, they like to break a lot…”

Here’s a CJ-3A that still has the 6 volt system.  This might be a good find if you want to restore a CJ-3A without too much work.

“This is a very nice original jeep. (very rare). Most have been modified heavily. The only thing modified are seat belts, roll bar, lockout front hubs, and of course wheels and tires. The original engine, transmission and transfer case are still under the hood! It is still 6 volt with a new battery. I had the clutch replaced a few months ago and the mechanic didn’t do it right so I haven’t driven it since then. I knew I should have done it myself!!! It wasn’t aligned properly so it has a vibration. I haven’t had the time to fix it myself and I don’t trust anyone to do it for me. This isn’t a perfect restoration, but it looks good.  I’m pretty sure that’s a CJ-2A body though, unless someone put CJ-2A corner brackets on a CJ-3A body.

I wonder what the diameter of that rollbar is?  Looks pretty big around.  This might have minimal rust, but somethings been done to the steps.

It has a F-Head 134 I4 (4 cycle). The oil filter has been modified and the electrical is 12V instead of 6V. I am not going to snow anyone over or waiste their time – the engine could be siezed! “1951 Willys Jeep CJ3A Flat Fender. Original 134 cubic inch L-Head “Go-Devil” motor that was completely rebuilt top to bottom by a well-known professional establishment in Sumner – Bow Tie Performance -. It was pulled, rebuilt, and then all the accessories were replaced too: brand new fuel pump, water pump, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, oil filter, all fluids replaced, new motor mounts, new lines and hoses, carburetor rebuilt, sprayed with high temperature paint and runs like a dream. The transmission is the original 3-speed T-90 which works great clutch and throwout bearing were inspected and did not need replacing, new transmission mounts too. The transfer case is an original Dana 18 twin-stick. Frontend is the Dana 27 open with original lockout hubs. The rear is an offset Dana 44 with a limited slip. ….”
