Looks like the engine has been rebuilt recently.

Check out the rear end on this jeep. If that’s a modification, then when it was done, it was done nicely (now it’s a bit beat up). If that’s original, then it is rare! I’ve done some searches, but they haven’t yielded any suggestion that this is a production length….
“I am selling a 1949 willys jeep it was running last yaer and I was going to overhaul the moter just never got around to it this jeep is in great shape.
It says it’s never been used, but it looks like the front clip was ready to be installed. If it is in as good as shape as advertised, then this is a great price.
“Willy’s Jeep CJ2A, CJ3A, or MB Fiberglass Tub with Steel Fenders, grill, & tailgate. It’s never been used, no cracks – good shape! Also has a fiberglass tailgate included. There is a frame included if you want it.”
The seller states $12000 was spent on the restoration of this CJ-3A and that it will now go easily down Cali highways at 80mph. My response would be, for starters, how does the hood stay down at 80mph, because there is only a hood latch on the passenger side fender (none on driver side) and no latch receptacles on the hood. There's no mention of the MB body on this CJ-3A. The rear lights are missing on the driver's side. Rather than a CJ-3A, the grille appears to be a slat grille in the front (probably the most valuable part of this jeep). Caveat Emptor.
"4 wheel disk brakes, rancho suspension, 10,000 lb warn winch, power steering, power brakes, newer Ford 250 6 cylinder motor, new tires, new wheels, ground up restoration, new interior. This old jeep has been lovingly professionally restored to better than new condition. I had power disk brakes, power steering, Ford 250 motor, and rancho suspension added recently. I also had the interior completely redone for $2200 with commercial grade heavy duty vinyl and super heavy duty rubber on the floors. I also had the jeep painted with a $5500 base coat clear coat paint job which looks fantastic. There's over $12,000 in restoration and now I've decided to sell it…."
This is a jigsaw puzzle. Looks like plenty of pieces with no obvious dents or rust.
"I'M SELLING MY JEEP WILLYS THAT I BOUGHT A COUPLE MONTHS AGO I WAS PLANNING TO CONVERTED TO A V8 BUT I DON'T HAVE TIME ANYMORE BECAUSE I'M GOING BACK TO SCHOOL. THE JEEP IS PART OUT BUT I HAVE ALL THE PIECES TO PUT IT BACK TOGETHER. THE FRAME HAS A 3 INCH LIFT KIT WITH NEW SHACKLES IN THE FRONT AND NEW SHOCKS,THE TUB HAVE SOME RUST ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR, I HAVE THE 2 FENDERS AND 2 HOODS FOR IT …. $1400 OBO 619 266 0886"
This might be a pretty good deal.
"This is a 1950 Jeep Willys CJ-3A. For the year, it's in great condition. It comes with a brand new, single barrel carbuerator. Nothing is missing from it, except the PTO I removed off the back. It has a 4 cylinder flathead. The engine turns over, but the new carb hasn't been hooked up yet and there's no battery so it deosn't run. I took this on as a project, but just won't have the time to put into it. It'll make a fun project for someone. Asking $2,750, but I'll consider offers. Email or call me at 303-718-0698."
The price of this CJ-3A sounds about right. Some pics of this one would be nice to see. Obviously, the year isn't quite right, but maybe it's on a later model frame?

This fiberglass tub flatfender looks pretty good.
“You are looking at a 1950 Willys Jeep. It has a 231 cubic inch Buick V6 which is a quite common conversion since it was used in 60’s vintage Jeeps. It has power steering, a rebuilt M18 Transfer case, rebuilt Dana 25 front differential with new Lockrite locker, rebuilt Dana 44 rear differential with new Lockrite locker, new king pin bearings, new front wheel bearings, new pinion bearing, total of $2,500 work done. Less than 100 miles since work was done. Has exceptionally sturdy fiberglass tub. Original steel hood and windshield. Larger gas tank relocated to rear. New 31″ tires. New rebuilt Holly carb, the leaf springs are new and are longer than stock for a better ride and more articulation.”
This is one of the most rusted flat fenders I think I've ever seen. Next, I noticed the rear PTO water pump, which was cool. Then I noticed the solid back — no tailgate, yet the body doesn't look like a MB/GPW. It's hard for me to believe that this jeep rusted so much while in storage.
"Willys,4 x 4. NO TITLE. year unknown, needs complete resto. has drivetrain intact. rear water pump pto driven. was in storage for 25 years until last week…. coalbiz2001@hotmail.com"
As I have mentioned before, finding a good quality, original CJ-3A is much more difficult than finding a CJ-2A. This looks like a good one.
