About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“54 willys cj3b high hood. Extremely nice jeep. Has a 289 small block ford. with a 3 speed transmission with a warn overdrive. Warn winch. Custom front and rear bumpers. Racing bucket seats and a back seat. Rhino lined tub on the inside. No rust in jeep. Like new 33×12.5 mud terrains. Really nice jeep.”
Here’s an ex-Forest Service jeep with plenty of original extras.
“1963 Willys CJ3B U.S.F.S. Jeep for sale. This unit underwent a very expensive rebuild down to the last nut and bolt during 2006-2007. Since then it has lived in our dry garage with a soft cover on it. It has about 540 miles on it and used on sunnydays, a few weddings, parades, crusing the Nathez Trace, etc. I just uncovered it, cranked it up and drove out in the yard and snapped these pictures. If you are a Willys person you can see the care that was taken in putting this unit back into service. The color is 1962 willys cerulean blue with correct seats and covers. We have a rear passenger seat not shown that goes with it. The new sheet metal is from Willys Overland in Toledo, OH. All mechanicals are remanufactured by professionals, no patching, period. In addition to the standard equipment: F-134 Hurricane Engine, 3 spd transnsmission, 2 speed transfer case, original 1962 lock-out front hubs, 16” willys steel wheels. The goverment agencies added from the Willys Dealer on this one: Belt Driven Variable Speed Engine Governor, Rear P.T.O. Drive for Implements, Front P.T.O. Drive for the Keonig King Winch with plasma rope, Warn Over Drive for Highway travel, Fuel Pump with Vacuum Motor to operate 2 Windshield Wipers, F-3 Engine Oil Cleaner, Spartan Self Cancelling Turn Signals and more. Everything is as it should be. We prefer an alternator to insure reliability. The jeep is very quiet, and safe. If you want to built a rust free “new” willys you will spend double the price of this one. If you want to go on fun Jeep Rides and be the talk of any car show, it is available. Look on www.cj3bpage.com and go to 1962 owners. It is feautured there with another write-up and more pictures.”
“1954 willys jeep 4×4, 4 cyl. F-head, overhead valves, runs good, 4 wheel drive works good, no brakes, headlights work, windshield has hole busted in it, just an old jeep with typical maintenence needed, could use some new points, plugs etc, had it on my deerlease for yrs, replaced with 4 wheelers, need to sell it,has hi and low range with 3 spd tranny, tires has decent tread but dry rotted, good enough for off roading though, gas tank is a “6 gallon boat tank” sitting in the back, make a good deer lease or farm/ranch vehicle, no title, might be able to track it down though, i dont know, selling as is, will start and drive onto your trailer, remember “no brakes” lol, thanks for looking. Location is Lufkin Tx, about 120 miles north of houston and 80 miles south of tyler tx”
‘1953 Jeep CJ-3b
This Jeep is very original. It was purchased by me in Western NC from a man who purchased from the original owner. It was a farm Jeep and has very low mileage considering its age. I looked at 12 other 52-53 Jeeps before I decided to buy this one.
This is why I chose this Jeep:
The bad stuff:
typical rust, but not tons of it- most panels can be fixed easily as everything is flat
no top, but it does have the top frame, and one door
brakes need to be adjusted- the rear wheels lock up under heavy braking
the carb is new but it floods easily- I suspect the needle and seat assembly-some fuel lines need to be rerouted
typical decay of the original wiring harness
needs muffler welded on (I have a muffler)
brake lights are non-original and not working
seats need to be recovered
The good stuff:
it is 99% original
low miles 45K
the motor runs great
the differential works great
the tranny works great
the steering gear works great
the frame is solid
the tires are brand new (have receipt)
wheels were shot peened and painted with urethane (have receipt)
new front window (have receipt)
just about every part imaginable is available with a mouse click or a phone call
it just looks cool
I am selling this , because I have way too many projects , and this would be a great and easy project for someone. I have over $3000 in the Jeep. I will accept reasonable offers. I do not want any trades, as I do not need a divorce. Payment will need to be in cash.
( I am also selling a 1994 Jeep YJ with a 258, ps, pb, Sahara package, new sailcloth top, AM-FM CD, 7″ total lift on good BFG 33’s, Motorcraft 2100 carb swap–needs tuning, needs some work on the CAD front axle actuator as the vacuum nipple broke off $4 part—the paint is very nice with very little rust–witha few more dollars this could be a really nice Jeep—–$4200–I have $5600 in the Jeep—I’ll post pictures soon)”
“1954 Willys Jeep CJ 3B . . . Have done a lot of mechanical restoration on this Jeep. It has a rebuilt engine with new clutch.
New: Brakes all around; shoes, wheel cyls.,hoses and lines.
Radiator, hoses,and waterpump
Fuel tank, fuel pump, and rebuilt carb.
It runs and drives well. Was originally 6 volt system.Somewhere in its life someone converted to 12volt system. Everything works but, I would probably replace the wiring harness because it is the original harness and is old. The frame is good, getting thin by rear spring shackles, but not hard to repair.( hey, it is a 56 yr old frame, how long does a frame last on a Toyota today…?) The body is original as far as I can tell. Has been patched up, needs a little more to be inspectable for the road.Top, is all there but,as you can see in pictures is coming apart at the seams. Very easy to restore, not much that is not available from various parts vendors to restore one of these old Jeeps. Asking $2250 (don’t call and offer $1000, unless you want a rolling shell) Call 802-343-0112. Thanks for looking.”
(04/09/2011) This tub is half CJ-3B (front) and half DJ-3A (rear).
“Yes, it is still for sale, I have had issues getting my phone messages. If you have called and didn’t get ahold of me, im sorry, feel free to call back. I am moving out of state and don’t have room on the trailer for this project.
I am selling my 1957 Willys CJ3B project. I have been slowly getting this thing built, but I just don’t have the time to finish before I leave and no room to take it with me. The Tub is a mix of CJ3B cowl with a ’56 willys DJ3 / MB tub (the DJ cowl was cut up and gone before I got the tub) sitting on a ’70’s 2wd mail jeep chassis with a Dana 44 rear axle and stock 2wd front axle. The 70’s mail jeep chassis has the better steering and is stonger around the engine area then the CJ frames, has out board mounted rear leaf springs and brand new 31×10-15 tires.
I was building this jeep for the sand dunes, so the original 4cyl is long gone, I will include a rebuildable chevy 350 v8 and chevy short shaft th350 automatic transmission. Neather are mounted and they do need rebuilt
So for $700 you can have an old jeep project…or buy the wheels, tires, engine and trans and get the rest of the stuff an a bonus. Let me know if you are interested, I have the title in had, not yet notorized. Eli-509-230-7239”

UPDATE: This sold very quickly. Was listed at $1500. (thanks Rich)
This has an unusual dash. This was for sale 3 years ago at a much higher price. This might be a good price even though it doesn’t sound like it runs at the moment.
“Been sitting for a couple of years, ran when put away. Don’t have the time for it.”
(01/09/2011) This runs and appears solid, though it is missing the driver’s side step. Looks like a good price.
“OK, I have a 1950’s Willys runs and moves needs battery. Good restore or parts. Snow Plower etc…………. I have 3 other Pics. Please call before making offer. Call Steve: (845) 932-8486”
