About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
1961 CJ5 with PTO Winch set up. Looks fairly clean.
Information from seller:
Are you looking for a classic off-road vehicle that’s ready for adventure? Look no further! I’m selling my 1961 Willys Jeep CJ5, a rare and iconic model that’s perfect for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
Running and driving well, with a strong engine and transmission, both of which are original. It also sports a very rare, period correct winch set-up.
Fritz sent this one over to us via the website contact page, which I had just got working so that was pretty cool to see that function work, the contact form stopped working tried a bunch of things but just made it simple Contact Us, lot of layers to this.
Back to the CJ5, this looks like a nice patina. It includes a very complete list of recent work completed. Has a lot listed and seems like you can get in and go with this one. Most of it appears to have been gone over.
Information from seller:
1956 Willys CJ5 $10,000 well.
Actual Mileage unknown.
300 after engine rebuild.
Use as is with the Patina/character or have the body work done.
Lots of work done.

Tim’s Take on Auctions
Find a friend who you trust and has been through the process, in other words not me. But in my opinion Auctions are a little tricky, I’ve so far not been a bidder or buyer, but I have sold at Auction and I think you need to compartmentalize at times the overall cost vs gain, move it down the road or toss it back on the trailer. Commit but be flexible enough to see the forest through the trees kind of deal, sometimes the rig is just is better off down the road and you move on, and it costs you a few Willys Bucks’ Total Cost of Ownership is not just the dollars in your pocket after your time has ended with the rig, there are lots of memories that are priceless, which is why I say get out there and meet up with some folks at some of these great events.
You really should read the Terms and Conditions directly on the Auction House website for how exactly the bidding works, including title transfer, ownership, type of title you are getting, is this even able to be put back on the road. I can keep going, but do your homework, and there will always be another Willys coming up for Sale very soon that my fit your needs better then something that has just caught your attention and is ending too soon to do your homework.
This auction has: Lots of hyperlinks to their T&C and processes, they are listed next to the various items at times.
Reserve Price
Minimum they will sell this lot for.
Max Proxy Bid
From this Auction Houses Link:
Understand proxy pre-bidding
IMPORTANT – You are asking us to represent you at an upcoming private auction and bid on your behalf only up to the limit you set here. Accordingly, you should submit your MAXIMUMbid prior to the pre-bidding deadline noted above. Remember, current bid amount at close of pre-bidding is not a good indicator of the ultimate sale price. Sellers may have a reserve price set and another bidder may have a max bid set much higher than the current bid shown. Bid realistically.
Auctions utilize a proxy bidding system, whereby the system can automatically bid up the minimum amount necessary for one to be the high bidder, but only up to the max bid amount entered here. If you do not enter your maximum bid, you will be at a significant disadvantage to those who do.
My take on it
You set your max price and they have a system that increments your bid to your max price, typically and not sure if this applies if you are below the Reserve price your first bid is going to go to the Max, so if its $25 to register to buy a vehicle get set up and the sort and your Max bid is $1200 and the reserve is $2500, your bid is going right to the $1200.
Minimum Bid
Lowest possible bid. (see above on the proxy max bid)
Buy it Now Price
They listed a price for you to buy it now.
Auction fees listed
Not sure if they go up past what’s listed read the T&C’s goes a long way.
So lot to unpack there and just beware of the total cost of the rig and how the increments work for the bidding.
V6 missing some stuff for sure, but if you don’t need all that missing stuff just think about all the extra work and scrap you don’t have to deal with. It looks like it has a bunch of stuff, says OBO, No Title, not sure on ID Title stuff with Bill of Sale.
Information from seller:
1968 CJ5 with factory Buick V6. Engine turns over but doesn’t run. I got it in a package deal and don’t need it. Tires are new and where about for around $1500. Selling with bill of sale only. Last owner lost the title but I can provide a copy of my bill of sale as well to help get a title. Rust isn’t to bad but definitely has surface rust. Would make a great project. Price is OBO
Maybe these are what we used to buy as $500 rigs as kids in the mid 90’s. Maybe another of those go take a look if your doing a swap rig.
Another goal of some of these posts is to give folks some sense of the market and rigs that are out there currently, also can give you some reference of the older stuff and see some period modifications for better or worse.
For example these what I call Wagon Wheels, back in the day they were everywhere!
Information from seller:
1956 Willys jeep cj5. No engine no title. Body in very good condition for its age. Very sturdy. Some rust. Had 4cylinder engine from factory. $2500 plus extra parts.
NOTE I GRABBED THIS THEN NOTICED ITS FROM 7 MONTHS AGO, SO JUST BEAWARE AI KNOW THAT, BUT YOU NEVER KNOW COULD BE THERE???
1974 Jeep CJ5 $3500 Hammonton, NJ
Little bit newer then normal, but I just really like the look of this one, would be a great little plow rig.
Same seller has a 4- 236 Perkins Diesel in a Fork Truck posted, but that was a few months old as well, Has $5k on that, its not in a Willys, but they have a video of it running.
Information from seller:
Needs some cosmetic bit engine runs strong. Clean title
Good price point and seems like the use this one for some local trail rides.
