Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This CJ-5 looks like it has the original paint. The seller will trade for a Lamborghini … lol.
“1970 Jeep Renegade 1 CJ5
V6 Dauntless Buick 225 carbureted motor
3 speed manual with overdrive
4×4 with high and low
Front hub locks, Auto lockers in rear
Has warn winch with dash mounted controls
Tow bar to haul behind truck or RV
Has a tow hitch of its own.
No lift, but newer 32″ tires
CB radio
AM/FM stereo with speakers on roll bar
Seats are in good shape
Toolboxes under passenger seat and rear seat.
Soft top with no leaks
Odometer reads 36k but is not accurate. Although this was a weekend warrior its whole life so it does have low use miles.
Starts good and everything works.
Little to no rust on entire jeep.

This CJ-5 certainly has it’s own style.
“1960s +- CJ5 302 FORD V8 VERY GOOD MOTOR WITH THUMPER CAM. AWSOME IDLE. WAY TOO MUCH MOTOR, BUT WHAT THE HECK A MAN NEEDS POWER. THE SOUND ALONE IS WORTH IT.FRESH BUILT TRANS AND TRANSFER CASE. RUNS AND DRIVES STRONG. FOR OFF ROAD USE ONLY. I HAVE ONLY DRIVEN IT LOCAL. TIRES ARE GOOD BUT NOT BALANCED, BRAKES WORK BUT NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR HIGH SPEED. SOLD BILL OF SALE ONLY NO TITLE. I AM NOT SURE OF YEAR MODEL. CALL FOR MORE INFO. I AM TOO OLD FOR TEXING”
This CJ-5 has been stretched in the middle.
“At some point someone took the 1957 Jeep Willys body from the frame. They cut and extended the body by 13.5 inches right in the middle of the door frame. They sprayed the under body with a rust inhibitor and dropped the body on a late 80’s CJ-7 frame. The AMC straight 6, transmission, axles and etc are all original to the CJ-7 (as far as I know). Registered as a 57 Willys.
I take it out around town twice a month or so. Good BF Good All Terrains on it.
Wanted to tinker with it but don’t have much time or expertise. Now have #2 baby on the way.
A buddy said to start around $4000. Might also be interested in a trade or barter for a different 4×4 I could use as hunting rig, fence work, side by side, 4 wheeler, etc. Let me know!”

“1957 Willys Jeep in real good original condition. This jeep has its original Willys F134 overhead value Hurricane 4 cyl 75hp engine, it does not smoke. 4×4, hi and low work all work. It has a fairly new soft top with full soft doors for side and rear. Tires are in excellent condition and are over sized 8ply. Everything works as it should for its age. Great jeep for farm or ranch but would also make great restoration project to take to next level. ”
