Looks like it has a PTO winch.
“I have an old willys jeep that was going to be a project for the hunting lease that never got started. So with to many projects and not enough time it has to go. I do not have the tittle for it the motor and trans where gone when I got it. Body is very rusty started to remove front clip to install and engine but never finished. Green grille was purchased to replace the yellow one. Axles are original and frame looks solid.”
The price might be good on this. I can’t tell if there’s rust across the rear bottom of the windshield or if that’s just an illusion.
“runs good needs some brake work 68000 original miles 4 wheel drive works im third owner of the jeep as told to me by the first owner has some body rust but still looks good also has a small black top that is much better looking more pictures available.”
It runs and includes a plow. The hardtop looks in good shape too.
“1961 Willys / CJ Jeep – 4 speed manual transmission, factory 4 cyl. eng., mileage unknown.
Runs but not well, might need a carb rebuild / tune or something, As you see it is how I bought it, I bought last year to use as plow truck for my property but am sick of tinkering with it I just dont know enough to fix it. Has Factory plow set up on it (works), the engine does not knock, has newer clutch, tires are ok, 4wd works, transmission seems good.
Interior is pretty much gone, body has rust, not the prettiest thing but parts wise and mechanically there is alot of good value here. It needs brakes, battery, radiator, maybe carb rebuild, knowledge and some time. Would be great for parts or with effort a good plow truck
Email me for contact info or any questions, thanks.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500.
Here’s an interesting find. This builder installed a Mercruiser 470 4 cyl aluminum engine into his project jeep. I’d never heard of doing this, so I did some research and found this thread on HAMB that provides all kinds of details about converting this boat motor to a vehicle motor. I’ve emailed the seller of this to learn more, as the motor is just the kind of strange thing I’d like to install into Biscuit if everything checks out.
“Too many projects, so this one has to go. It is a 1957 Willys CJ5. It has an aluminum block Mercruiser 470 4 cylinder motor and a 4spd transmission. It has a Dana 44 front axle and a Dana 60 rear axle. It comes with an original hard top with doors as well as a tow bar. The syncro for the reverse has gone out in it, but that is a fairly easy fix for anyone with some mechanical aptitude. It has a new battery and a fresh rebuilt Carter AFB carb. The tires shown are not the tires that come with it, as those are actually my brothers. Asking $1,500 but will consider reasonable offers. I just don’t have a place to finish it like I want to, so I’m looking for a good home for it. I have a clean and clear idaho title for it. ”
Bob pointed out a discussion regarding a 1962 CJ-5 for sale on eBay. You can see the original post about this jeep at the CJ-2A page.

“Hello, Ive listed this jeep on here before it always came within $500.00 of the reserve but never sold. So I have lowered the reserve price hoping that it will go to a new home! Ok, Heres what i know about the Jeep It was bought by an retired Gen. back in 1962. He bought it new becauseHe thought it was the Idenacal Jeep that (Patton) was killed in duing the war! Now this has been disputed here in the last couple of days! When I pulled it up on a Google search it did say that he was killed in a cj-5 Jeep? But who really knows? Ive had several e-mails that totally agree with this and some dont.Im only 48 so I dont know? Anyway He later died and it went from collector to collector. When I purchased it here in Fl. My daughter was Just sixteen working on the beach. She could never get the hang of the shifting so I took it to a Jeep expert here in town and it started its three month change over to an automatic. I still have all of the original rear end, three speep trans. clutch and the presure plate. Also I have the gear box and the drive line for the front axle. I left this out on purpose so that my daughter would not be tempted by going down on the beach with it. Anyway, after several months she was leaving work in the jeep and four men in their early twenties started commenting on the jeep and how they wanted it for themselves. So as she was pulling away from them they grabbed her and tried to pull her out of it to steal it! Luckily she had her seat belt on and they couldnt! Needless to say she ran one of them over and took off! After all of that she was pretty shook up so I bought her a new car to drive and the jeep has been sitting in storage ever since. And that was last Aug.15th. I have gone over and started it about every six weeks. The last time was this last week end. Ive been told by several people that this jeep is very rare and if put in the right place and person that it would bring up to $30,000. But im starting it at $12,000 and (No Reserve!) so what ever it bring is what it brings! I do know that it is alot of fun to drive and if taken care of it will last a long time! Please remember that it is 48 plus yrs. old! Good luck! and enjoy.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000.
Brett spotted this nice jeep. It sure looks nice for the price. The front springs are reversed as expected. The updated rear springs seem to be pushing the rear axle forward a bit.
“This jeep is priced to sell. Great condition. Custom roll bar, four inch lift, original four cylinder, 31 inch brand new tires and rims, and BRAND NEW TOP. Must see. Note: 2nd owner, no highway miles first owner had it sitting in storage. ”
