About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
UPDATE: Back in 2012 I ran across a pic of this CJ-5 on Flickr (1st one shown below). Now, thanks to rob, we have a series of photos of this North Carolina CJ-5, custom built by the owner. Sure looks handy!
“This is a 1958 Kaiser Willy’s Jeep that I purchased in 2014. It is all original including the original F4-134 Hurricane Engine. Its got a 3 speed transmission (first gear is a crash box, so you have to not be moving to get it into first). The 4wd works well. The hubs are manual locking.
I have only done a tune-up as well as replace the fuel pump to the motor. I also added a newer stereo and new seats including a back seat with seat belts. There was a red bakini top that came with it, I don’t use it, but will throw it in with a sale. There are also some misc. pieces and parts that I will give the buyer.
The jeep starts right up year after year and is always garage kept. It top’s out at around 35mph, but has a nice granny gear for going up steep hills. As far as I can tell, the jeep spent most of its life in Truth or Consequences New Mexico. The odometer reads ~5700 miles, but I believe the entire speedometer assembly may have been switched out at one point prior to my ownership, so I don’t know if it represents actual mileage The jeep only gets a few miles put on it per year under my ownership. It has very little rust considering its age.”
“Vintage original 1974 Marine Corps MP Jeep CJ-5 with a clean title (third owner).
Had been stored in a barn for a while but starts, runs, and brakes. Battery is brand-new and the Firestone tires have less than 200 miles on them. Comes with handbooks, additional parts and accessories, spare tire. Has some rusty patches and dings and dents. Good project vehicle. Please examine the photos and videos carefully.”
“1947 Willy’s Jeep and a regular Jeep. Willy’s has the original engine and dual wheels. The Jeep has the original 4cly. Both are 4×4 and have manual transmissions. I have the windshield for the Willy’s No title for either one! $2,000 will not split.”
This has a nice vintage feel, though the fenders look newer.
“Willys Jeep 1961 for sale. Starts, runs and drives. Needs some TLC (it’s a Jeep). Gauges and wiring need work. The 12V conversion is still using a 6V starter. It is titled as a 1964, but when I ran the VIN number it comes up as a 1961 on the search sites specific to Willys.
Numerous new parts have been added over the past couple of years, but I’m moving on to other projects. Continue reading →
“1979 Jeep DJ5G mail jeep This jeep runs and has the original 258 (4.2) motor in it. New starter and fuel pump The rear end is a Dana 44 axle The jeep is drivable, but does leak some transmission fluid. The gaskets on the 727 transmission are easy to replace, but I have too many projects, so this one has to go and I havent had time to work on it. Since this was an old mail jeep, it is right hand drive”
