Dave sent over this great DJ he found on FB and of course had a ton of background on the rig. Always appreciate his content he shares with us! Thanks.
Dave’s Comments
This has an original DJ-3A top! Wow! That is a minor miracle. In 17 years of doing ewillys only one other time did I find a DJ-3A convertible top included for sale. If it were near me, I would buy it just for that top (for my convertible).
The seats look original. The shifter looks repaired. The 0-8 King Seeley speedometer looks original. It has the proper dry-gauze air cleaner. Other parts look in good shape. The body has been patched/repaired in places.

1956 DJ3A $5000 Canton, CT

I asked if this could be cross posted on eWillys and William said yes, so here is a 1956 DJ3A, owned for 40+ years, lots of other details are available on this one.

If interested it’s also cross posted on OWF.

You can email: wrplourd at gmail.com

Information from seller:

1956 DJ3A I have owned for 40+ years. Early on when i was in my early 20’s, it was my daily driver, but for most of that time it has sat in a barn in Maine.
In 2017 I brought it home to Connecticut with the intentions of “restoring” it to a weekend driver. While some work was done, more needs to be done and sadly I have lost the desire to continue the job. I’m looking for someone to pick up where I left off!
If interested, please reach out and I’ll fill you in with all the details, plenty more photos too.
Thanks everyone!

1958? Convertible DJ-3A Alexandria, OH $2300- AD REMOVED

• CATEGORIES: DJ-3A This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

AD REMOVED

This is Dave .. David shared this Convertible DJ-3A. It’s listed as a 1958, but has a King-Seeley 0-8 speedometer, which would make the jeep a 1956 model if original to the jeep. However, this has a curved front bumper, something I didn’t think was introduced until later (perhaps in 1958?).

Abandoned DJ-3A w/4WD Made to Run Again

• CATEGORIES: Builds, DJ-3A, videos This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

David, a reader from Texas, shared this video of an abandoned jeep made to run again. Called a CJ-3A in the video, it is clear it was was originally a 2WD DJ-3A. Given the Stewart Warner gauge coupled with the lack of a passenger-side heater vent, this is likely a ’58 or ’59 model. The jeep was adapted to 4WD using the axles from a WWII jeep (steering on the front axle; full floaters on the rear). The transmission cross member is likely WWII as well, though it could be from a 2A. I didn’t watch the entirely of the video, but maybe there are more clues (such as T84 vs T90).

1960 DJ-3A Surrey Sun Valley, CA B-a-T Auction

• CATEGORIES: DJ-3A • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

John shared this Surrey that has been sprayed with a lighter coat of paint. I discovered I have pics of this from at least a decade ago that were part of Bruce Agan’s archives, so it’s been this color for a while.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1960-willys-dj3a-surrey

“This 1960 Willys DJ-3A Surrey is one of a reported 1,000 examples produced between 1959 and 1964, and approximately 200 of the 1,800 miles shown were added since the vehicle was purchased by the seller in 2011. The body has been repainted light pink, and it features 15″ steel wheels, a rear-mounted spare tire, and chrome bumpers as well as vinyl upholstery that matches the pink- and white-striped removable top, spare tire cover, and sides. Power is from a 134ci inline-four paired with a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. Now showing 1,800 miles, this Surrey is offered in California with an owner’s manual, original sales paperwork, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s business.”

Year? DJ-3A? Madera, CA $5000

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3A, DJ-3A This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

This is listed as a 1956, but the dash is not a DJ-3A, though the body does lack a normal driver’s side fuel inlet. Not sure how much value is here.
