This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Richard Michalsky builds “mini-jeeps” out of his shop in Bolivia. These jeeps are all metal. The first vehicle, an MB look-a-like was completed in 3 years. It is 25% Smaller than the original vehicle and is 2WD, but has made of the same details. It is powered with a 3 Cyl engine from a Kia 1000cc. It weighs around 1250lbs.
This second jeep is a civilian model. It’s styled different, but appears to be built in a way similar to the MB-like jeep. It too is only 2WD. They look like a kick to drive around.

(06/21/2015) Listed as a 1948, this appears to be a 2WD DJ-3A.
“I am selling my 1948 Willys CJ2A. It is a project vehicle. This is the most fun vehicle I have ever driven.
It has been sitting a while in the garage and I haven’t had any time to putz with it, so it doesn’t start right now. That’s the usual story though. Normally it is a little starter fluid, charge battery, wiggle some ignition wires and she does. Needs new exhaust, radiator, electrical, brakes ( master cyl) speedometer and parking brake cables and tires. I drained the gas tank a few years ago and it was orange so I imagine there is some rust in the tank. 2 wheel drive. No top.
The price seems a tad high for a jeep that doesn’t look like its moved in some time. No description and only one photo.

“Up for sale is this classic 1974 DJ5C Postal Jeep. This has been my daily driver for a few months now and I sincerely wish I did not have to sell it. It is right hand drive and equipped with an AMC 232 inline six engine, paired with a Borg Warner automatic transmission. The engine is amazing and produces more than enough power to pass people on the highway!

Listed as a 1957, it may be a combination of a DJ body and 4WD chassis.

(05/12/2015) This appears to have a DJ body, but the serial number is marked as 263130, which is quite a bit larger than the latest CJ-2A serial number (224764) listed on the CJ-2A site.

“1949 is the year of the fewest CJ2A flat fender jeeps. This Willys Jeeps appears to be the first of the DJ (Dispatch Jeep) ever made…it has a rear fuel tank instead of under the seat…it also has easy entry/exit side panel…my guess is the dispatches were stored under the seat & the side panels were removed because couriers would have to get in & out a lot…I put bucket high back seats because comfort was important because I use this old girl every day it doesn’t rain…
