This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. It’s a project with a DJ body on a CJ (of some kind) chassis.
“Up for sale is my completely stripped down 1956 CJ-3 Willy’s Jeep Project. This has been sitting in my workshop for long enough, so its time for someone else to take it over. I learned a lot on this project – the biggest thing being that I don’t have time for a project like this!
The engine was removed in the fall of 2013 and the block planed and bored by Monarch. The head was planed as well. You get everything you see in the pics. It should be everything you need to rebuild with the exception of a gasket kit and either a new exhaust manifold or a heat riser kit to repair the one that you see on the bench. The body seems to be from a DJ best I can tell, but the chassis and running gear is definitely CJ (i.e. it is 4WD, etc and all the data plates point to CJ).

(2014/11/2014) This DJ has had 4WD and a newer motor added.

Doesn’t run, but looks in good shape. I don’t see a front driveline, so it may still be 2WD.
“1957 military jeep all original except for paint. Jeep is in excellent condition as far as the body is concerned, needs a little restoration for the interior to be back up. Has been sitting for 20 years. Does not run, would be a great project or collectors item. Call or text anytime”
It’s a little rough for the asking price. Listed as a 1956, it is actually a 1959 based on the serial number 5633716301. It only has 11,000 miles.

Was the half top DJ top unique to it, or was it a standard half top.

It’s been converted to four wheel drive or is a body on a four wheel drive chassis. It’s a column shift as well.

(02/24/2015) It appears that someone dropped a VEC CJ-2A body on a DJ-3A Chassis.
