This February 17, 1960, article from Florida’s Lakeland Ledger introduced the new “Maverick Special” wagon to readers.
This first wagon is from Uruguay and was shared by Christian del Manya. It’s an early three-row IKA Rural wagon built on a pickup 4×4 chassis. He included an ad for it down below.

Photos of the second and third interesting jeeps were found in this collection of photos:

UPDATE: The magazine Guion from Uruguay published a one-page article about the jeep, along with the cover page (shown at the bottom). My Spanish isn’t so good, so I have to guess, based on the photos, that the article discusses the problems caused by groups of young women in bikinis roving the beaches of Uruguay. Oh, what terrible problem that would be!?!?

This cover was published as part of the April 1947 issue. Thanks to Christian (via Derek Redmond) for sharing this one.

Scott spotted this jeep in what looks to be an older Peanuts cartoon by Charles M Schulz. If you are in the Santa Rosa, California, area, be sure to drop by the Charles M. Schulz Museum. Pretty neat!

Ted shared this story from last weekend: Sounds like they had a good time!
I’m sure you’ve seen a bunch of Eric’s collection of Willy’s Jeeps at his place up in NY. He is a great friend that I actually met through eWillys and has been buying a bunch of really great PTO related stuff from me over the years. Last weekend he took a trip down to see me with a few of his friends Todd and Todd’s son Conner, He also came to buy a really great little 52 CJ3A Farm Jeep complete with full PTO; complete Monroe three point hitch setup;,a set of Dual Wheel Adapters; front counter weight; Right Angle Drive Drum Pulley; and a couple of Cord Wood Buzz Saws. Super great hanging out with these guys and Im quite sure the Jeep and parts went to a good home.

I found this article titled “Jeep Mountaineers” by Henry Zuidema in the September 1950 issue of Motor News. The magazine was so Michigan focused that they had a list of Michigan-related football games for both college and pro teams.

This article was published in the February 28, 1941, issue of the Milwaukee Journal. Seemed like a good companion piece to the photo above.
