1942 GPW Sparks, NV **SOLD**

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3495.

This appears in good condition, though it has civilian parts.

“This is a 1942 Ford Military Jeep with the original 4-cylinder flathead, chassis and drive train. It purrs like a kitten. I bought this Jeep in 1976 and have driven it a few miles each year. I used it for many years at the Reno Air Races and to haul about broadcast production equipment. It has a sturdy roll bar and nice wheels. Tires are…..well, about 35 years old! Hah! Same Big O Tires I put on when I bought it. I did convert it from 6V into a 12V system for easy starting. Yes, all the lights are 12V too. The engine has been well-maintained by a friend who once worked for the original Harrah’s Automobile Collection. That’s the reason the engine purrs like a kitten. Leaks? Nope. One of the few 1942’s that DOES NOT LEAK OIL between the bell-housing and the transmission. It has front hubs and caps for the rear axle if you feel like towing it like a wagon. The windshield folds forward which is a great way to tour through the countryside. It has high range and low range 4-wheel drive and it all works flawlessly. The seats are early-American UGLY. They fit my posterior just fine but thus far, I have not been ticketed by the fashion police for such truly dreadful-looking seat covers. The body is a Willys. Someone put the body on before I purchased it in 1976 so while the body says “Willys”, the title proudly reads 1942 Ford convertible. Yup, that’s the DMV. I keep it up on the trailer because I prefer to haul it to where I’m going. After all, this Jeep is older than I am by four years and I’ve always tried to baby it. The trailer can be purchased separately if you so desire. Not too many of these military jeeps left around the countryside – especially one that is so mechanically sound. You can drive him down the freeway at 55-60 all day long. Really turns some heads.”

“your choice. A brand new GPW OD green colored muffler system with install kit that has all bolts and mounts or original nice cond. $150.
6 Volt Delco Remy Generator that was on jeep before 12 V conversion. Think was off 55 Chevy originaly.
I have a heavy duty removable tow bar and bumper. The bumper may be original? The tow bar comes off easy with two bolts and so would the mount, but it ws welded and bolted and looks great with tow bar off and mount could be easily removed by just grinding weld and could still just use the bolts it has to tow. $295. or trade + cash for regular GPW bumper new or used.
I have a new never mounted Ford GPW or Willys 1941, 42, 43, 44, 45 WWII Army Jeep window mounted Carbine Rifle mount on OD green. $295.

1945 GPW Adamsville, Tn $1000

• CATEGORIES: GPW (Ford MB) This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

It runs and drives, however I can’t agree that “everything is as it should be”.

“1945 military jeep made by Ford GPW. It’s the same thing as a Willys and parts are interchangeable. The original 4 cylinder was pulled and a V6 from a 53 was installed. There is surface rust but no holes or anything bad. The jeep runs and drives great and the 4wd and everything is as it should be. Might trade but cash is preferred. $1000 731-607-1405”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.

Runs and drives.

“1942 GPW Jeep, like the willys Ford help build them back during the world wars. Any how this one is unquie its had a willys truck cab and bed mated to it and is powered by a chevy 283 V8. Jeep runs and starts fine, we have been using it on the farm/ranch for the last 5 years and it belong to a friend of are that has had it over 40 yrs and did all these mods to it about 35 yrs ago so this thing has been running for sometime being a hunting rig in Colorado and Texas. I have the title to the Jeep, its not street legal i have only driven it up to about 45 mph on a gravel road before but manily for off road and trail use only. Selling it manily for the reason my dad is getting older and having a hard time getting in and out of it so side by sides have replaced it. Everything works for the most part, it doesnt have very good brakes it will slow down and stop but not great, the seat needs to be recoved and the exhaust pipe has some holes in it from exhaust leaks but no biggie. all 6 kc lights work, 4×4 works, starts and runs fine carb was rebuilt 3 yrs ago, new starter and alternator, battery, hitches front and rear, 2k lb winch on the front.”
