About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Listed as a 3A, it looks more like a M-38 to me. Probably first titled in 1953.
“1953 CJ3A 134L flat head 4. Runs perfect. All 4×4 works good. Pan is in excellent shape. Needs brake work and gas tank. Running on boat tank now. New tank 157.00 from www.KaiserWillys.com. text or call 7692187045. May trade for rat rod, old hot rod.”
Steve’s friend is selling this jeep. It has a 2A body.
“1950-51 Willys Military M38. The tub is off a 46 CJ2a. It is still 24 volt. The frame, grill, engine, drivetrain, and Arctic Top are all original m38. It has a new fuel tank and sender, new waterproof ignition parts, water pump. It also comes with new steering parts, new brake parts and master cylinder. The seat frames are painted and it has new od green canvas covers. The aluminum hard top is an original military overland “Arctic Top”. The ignition parts have been replaced and the carb has been rebuilt. The engine runs and I have driven it around the parking lot, but the brakes do not work (there are new brake parts included). The Tub has some rust, but the rest of the body is in decent shape. I had planned to replace the tub with an original M38 tub whenever I found one. This is a great restoration project. It is currently titled as a 1946 CJ2a. $2500 OBO
We were told when we bought it that it was used on the Boone, IA reserve base many years ago.
Email with question and I can give you my number and we can talk about it.
Not looking for trades. Thankyou”
I’ve updated the post to correct my own confusion.
“M38 for sale. The Engine and drivetrain are free(it turns over). Rusted but looks to have all parts but the seats. The windshield has a crack in one of the glasses.

“This fun m38 has to go. Stock drivetrain in perfect working order. Has new seat upholstry.

(08/21/2013) It’s missing the parking brake, but otherwise looks solid.
“1951 m38 jeep-runs great and street legal. Converted to 12V, with alternator. Come drive it and make your own evaluation. Title and serial numbers match and shows MC 31136. Futher restoration would make this a true classic.”
“I have a willys that was started to be restored a number of years ago and never finished. The frame was painted, new shocks, new brake shoes, wheel cylinders, spring kits, rubber brake lines. Has a military 1952 tub, hood, and grill with the flip head lights from a earlier Ford GPW. I have new windshield rubber and seal, new mirrors, and a few other new parts. There are some extra parts that go with it, front axel shafts, starters, brackets, extra tail gate, and more. It is missing some parts, gauges, tail lights and others. The flat head 4 cyl engine is tight and only good for a core. Radiator and drive shafts are sitting in the jeep. I also have an extra transmission and case with a PTO on it that will go with it. This jeep is in need of lots of work but has a nice body that needs very little work. I have a 46 title with it that was signed so you will also need to fill out a form with the title to transfer it to your name, have had to do a couple like this, not a big deal.
$1400, email or text 7one58five34868
Would trade for good name brand tire changer or 2 bay tool box, Matco or Snapon”
“This is an M38 body tub with 1946 Willys frame, hood, grill, flat-fenders, windshield and tailgate. 231 Buick V6 motor. Custom 2 into 1 exhaust (quiet). Early 70s Dana 44 offset rear Axle(rebuilt 2 years ago), Late 70s Dana 30 offset front Axle (rebuilt last winter) with Warn Premium manual locking hubs and heavy duty U-Joints, both axles are locked with 5.38 gears. 11 inch drum brakes all around. Custom heavy duty Drive Shafts. Super Swamper 34 inch LTB tires. Front shackle reversal. Rancho 2.5 inch lift Flex springs with double wrap main spring. Heavy duty tie rods. Early 80s Desert Dynamics 8000 lb winch. 48 inch Hi-Jack, mounted on inside. Custom radiator. Custom Seats.
Its registered in ME as an antique auto, runs great, pretty much goes any where you want to go, it will climb anything. Ive got lots of extras lying around; soft top, spare axles, brake parts (including disc brake conversion for front), grill, drive shafts, back seat, etc. I have put more than $6000 in this jeep in the last three years with its most recent rebuild. My local jeep mechanic that’s known of the vehicle since its original rebuild 28 years ago says that its worth all of $5000, if not more. motivated to sell and let it go to the next fun seaking off roader.”
“I have a M38 Willys Jeep that I have started to restore so it is partially disassembled. The engine and transmission is almost ready to come out to be rebuilt. The attached photos are of BEFORE restoration was started. This is not a running jeep. If you are looking for a project, this is a good one. I am not desperate to sale and will not give it away. M38’s are some of the most rare jeeps ever built. I just don’t have time right now to finish the project. If you are interested text or call me at 901-four eight two-3053. I don’t need help selling and if its still listed its still for sale. might consider trades. come look at it and make an offer”
(08/26/2013) It looks in good shape. No mention of the power train type.
