Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Between the grille and the body I think this is a M-38, but it doesn’t have the battery box lid. Maybe it’s a repro body.
“1951 Willys Jeep in excellent condition. Several year restoration–in storage since completion with very little use. Comes with soft top and extra set of tires. Ford V-8 302 powered, stick shift. No rust. Original except for engine.
Needs minor TLC. The hydraulic brakes and clutch need bleeding.”

“1952 Willys M-38 Jeep
I purchased this Willy’s about ten years ago with the intention of using it as the foundation for a rock buggy build. After learning more about it, how rare it is and the history that it represented I decided not to tear the fenders off four wheeling. I did all the work myself and restored it as best I could considering my ability and finances over the last decade. Its over 90% complete now but I just dont have the time to tinker on it anymore. I’d like for someone who appreciates really cool things to have it so they can continue putting it back together and enjoy it. When I got it the odometer said just over 7K miles ( still have original gauges to prove this) so I think its still got a lot of life left in it.
This appears to be a mix of parts. The rear axle is full floating.

“Selling my running unrestored military M38 Jeep dated 2-52. It has a clear Tennessee title, new wiring harness, new tires, new YS carburetor, new seats, new batteries and spare tire carrier. Only rust on the M38 is 3 nickel size holes under the gas tank. M100 trailers are unrestored with solid floors and correct lunettes but sold with only a bill of sale.”

“We used the original frame and running gear and a new reproduction body. This vehicle has a 24 volt electrical system powered by modern alternator and new replacement carburetor on rebuilt engine. The transmission/transfer case has been rebuilt. It has all new brakes, brake lines, wheel bearings and brand new canvas seat cushions. Everything has been rebuilt on this vehicle. Top bows and fittings are included but there is no canvas for the top. This jeep has a PA title. More pictures available upon request.”

It is still 24 Volt has a 1 1/2 rust spot on the passenger side and a little under the gas tank there is no rust on any c channel supports it runs and drives brakes work great. It has the original engine it has all the correct data plates it has a Clean title that match the vin and body plates I also have the original fuel pum with spacer and boltsp I also have a parts jeep 1952 M38 that I will throw in for a extra $1000 if you want it $5000.00 or OBO for any Question please call”

There are M-38 (dash, tailgate, grille) and CJ-3A (no battery box, cj gas inlet) elements on the body. Not sure what’s going on here. Seller lists as a CJ-3A.
