Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. It’s got some issues, but unclear what they are.
“1952 Willys-M38 Jeep. Water proof,posi traction ,hotwater heaterkit,with /brz foring kit ,runs and drives well. Does need a little tlc but worth the price.
Here’s a project.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500
“I have a 52 willys jeep that I bought to restore and drive but ran out of time and money and I am tired of seeing it rust away. I never tried to start it because the guy I bought it from had started to do the wiring. He said that the motor ran but that was three years ago. Jeep is full of parts and pretty much all there. It only has the drivers seat frame and I have 5 almost new military tires and rims for it. Please make offer because I would like to see someone finish this. It also comes with an extra front and rear axle.”
This doesn’t run and looks pretty rough. The Wagon is for sale for $1250 as well.
“I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A 1952 M38 WILLYS MILITARY JEEP. THE BODY DATA PLATE SAYS SERIAL NUMBER IS MC-59863. THERE IS NO TITLE WITH THIS JEEP. IT HAS THE FOLLOWING ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT: THREE SEAT FRAMES, TRANSFER CASE, TRANSMISSION, MC 80403 ENGINE, BRASS DATA PLATE ON DASH, TWO AXE BRACKETS, WINDSHIELD FRAME, HOOD, TUB, FENDERS, GRILL, TAILGATE, SEVERAL FOOTMAN LOOPS AND OTHERS. IT HAS A CJ5 DIRTY GAS TANK, CIVILIAN 15 INCH WHEELS, AVM LOCKOUT HUBS, SPRINGS HAVE BEEN REPLACED, ALL GAGES HAVE BEEN REPLACED( I DON’T KNOW IF ANY OF THESE WORK) THIS JEEP HAS BEEN CONVERTED TO 12 VOLTS. THE ENGINE HAS A CRACK AROUND THE CENTER HEAD BOLT STUD ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. IT COMES WITH A VOLKSWAGEN CARB. SERIAL NUMBER 38477, VIN # 451-MC1-38477, DATE 10-51, WILLY JEEP HAS BEEN IN MY GARAGE SINCE 1972, LAST REGISTERED LIS PLATE 1972-1973, LOST TITLE, NEEDS NEW 2-RIMS AND TIRES, FLOOR BOARD NEEDS REPAIR AND SOME BODY REPAIR, JEEP DOES NOT RUN BUT ENGINE WILL TURN OVER WHEN PULLED.”
The seller lists this as a 1945 jeep, but it looks more like a M-38 based on the windshield and the grille (both headlight bezels and holes below the bezels. This is located in Oxford Station, Ontario, Canada.

This is a CJ-3A that’s been nicely altered into a M-38 clone.

This looks in good condition.
