About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Looks in good shape, but some more pics would be helpful.
“mechanically restored, with engine rebuild by an a actual motorpool vet. starts first crank. lots of parts and accessories. happy to answer questions and I can send you a link with great parade photos! this is an Antique you can really enjoy. Its ready for its new caretaker!”
Autoquest Jeep is selling this vehicle. It’s got a replacement body, but the frame looks to be an M-38 based on the boxed front frame rails. For a good comparison of an M-38 frame vs. a CJ-3A frame check out this image from Was at the Willys M Jeeps site:
“** 1949-1952 M38 Willys Project Army Jeep, green/tan, 4 cyl flathead L motor, 3spd
Info we have is this M38 Army Jeep was restored about 30 yrs ago & was last registered for street use in 1992. Previous owner bought in 1993 to use as a hunting Jeep & was not registered for legal use on the road since that date. Was reported to be running when parked. We would recommend a full servicing @ least or a rebuild to get it back on the road.
“Started frame up restoration, lost interest. The tub is in awesome condition, for being almost 70 years old. It is not rusted out. The small parts are done and painted. The floating Dana 44 rear diff is complete with new 5:38 gears. The Dana 25 front diff needs to be assembled. Comes with tailgate, windshield, and hood, also comes with the fully functional original trans and t-case, and a spare trans and t-case. There is also a complete Best Top soft top with soft doors and the frame work. Has a clean Colorado title. Need to sell complete, I will not part it out or sell parts individually. This would be a good starter project for someone looking to go back to factory military or custom flat fender. Parts are easily sourced on the net”

“1950 Willys M38 Jeep. Jeep runs great. Super fun to cruise around town or go off-roading in. Brand new leather top. Many new parts. Fires right up. Have priced them out in this condition and they’re $15K-$25K. $12K takes It”
“‘Selling my dream project. Tough times require tough decisions. This is a 1952 M-38 Willys Jeep. 4WD miracle. RUNS AND DRIVES, doesn’t stop great. Brand new clutch. Comes with extras, and a $50 gift card to the Jeep parts store I never got to use! Serous inquiry only, please no tire-kickers. Almost all original. Started life as a Korean war jeep, then went on to be used for the fire dept in Portland. You can see the OD green under the red FD paint. Very cool and nostalgic. Email me with any questions you have, I’ll be happy to answer. Title in hand. $100 deposit. ”
