Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1952 M38A1 military Jeep. the Jeep was originally Air Force Blue when my Grandfather got it in the 60’s. He put an early 60’s Buick 174ci V6 in it. It was only used for elk hunting for a good 20 years and was always garaged. Last year it got a fresh paint job new top, tires, seats, seat belts, wiper motors(2) and exhaust. Brakes have been redone and new master cylinder. It has been n the family for a long time, just sits n the garage and doesn’t get driven.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7800.
This is a mix of parts. Seller claims the body is a CJ-3A, but it’s an M-38. Those “Desert Dog” tires must be recaps?? The windshield is military, not CJ-2A.
“Chance of a Lifetime? 1945 Willy’s Jeep built by hand with crate parts in 1973. Approx 6K Miles. Runs amazing. Starts right up every time. I am the 2nd owner. Lights and turn signals work. 4wd works. 4 cyl Flathead engine. This Jeep has won a couple car shows. No rust that I’ve seen. Garage kept it’s entirety.
