Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. UPDATE: **Status Unknown** Was $4000
(12/18/2017) Seller describes this as a 1953 CJ-3A. It may be a CJ-3A chassis and M-38 body (seller indicates the body is “new”). It lacks the holes necessary to mount the M-38 grille hinges to the frame.
“This jeep is a 1953 cj3a, but it now has a brand new body tub that is a m38 body. Its just primered to stop from rusting. Lots of new parts rebuilt tcase, and trany diffs have been gone through. The engine turns but hasent been gone through. Its all stock has a doner frame from another jeep. Its like 90%, it does need wireing figured out, or just put new wireing harneses. Also needs brakes looked at, the spring kits were replaced i think not adjusted properly. It stops on one wheel but pedal goes to floor.
We have clear title. Most work was done buy Savios fwd in albuquerque at the time. We dont have the time or money to finnish it. It does retain the factory gauges. The shifters were also cromed out. All the original seats, willys tailgate, no back seat. Some one could easily finish this with alittle time. We got with the intention on converting it to a v8, but would requier to many mods. Plus its a small jeep. Its all original drive train numbers match on diffs, trany engine ect. Some one needs to finish it off.”

“Mechanically sound, is currently registered and insured. Frame is in great shape, body is rust free with a few wrinkles. Converted to 12 volt. Has all new suspension from Kaiser (leafs shocks shackles ubolts). Like new soft top and doors also included. Has radio and a very loud siren. Bill of sale. Jeep is military and originally came with no title.”

“I’ve owned this Jeep for about 20 years. Older restoration. Runs and drives..Brakes work. .you can drive it home!
Scratches and surface rust but no dents or damage. As long as I’ve owned it, its been in a barn under cover.

“Started on this a wY back replaced windshield and casket,new alum radiator,water pump,exhaust manifold,carburetor,exhaust sys all the w@y,Dana 44 rear end,steering sector,great for farm, huntining,plane old fun,4×4 good,clutch feels good, brakes r up,engine sounds good,both drive shafts and United joints replaced frame great shape all five org rims, all gages works, needs head and tail wired tenn title in my name I found another total restored and selling this one I deal with old cars and was my personnel’s project it’s at my shop a my hours r 9 til 6 m thru f 9til 4 sat ask for j. “1951 Willys M38
This is an original Military jeep that has 99% of the original equipment.
Restoration has begun. Complete New brake system, new front springs, shocks, wheels and tires, seat frames and upolstery, new gauges and nos plate, all new data plates, windshield frame restored and new windshield and many other items.
Runs and drives. Body fair but needs work.”
