About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
This appears to be a package deal. It looks like this ’49 has a CJ-2A windshield.
“hello my name is bruce and i have 2 jeeps for sale….one is a 1949 willys flatfender body is in great condition for a fix er upper wheelin rig… the other is a 1952 willys(same as a cjs) the 52 is a complete rig with a full roller chev 350 small block !!!!! call any time from 10 am to 10 pm cell is 253 722 6039”
Maybe it has an overdrive? I don’t see a great deal of value otherwise.
“Rare 1959 Willys M38A1 Jeep, has 109 hourse pinto motor needs clutch and brakes have most of the parts for the brakes. Just have not had time to put them togather. Has roll cage. or trade for a 4×4 toyota”
This appears to be a good price for those interested in early M-38a1s.
Jenn asked me to post these. She wrote, “We are asking $1500.00 for both. I would rather not part them out. If bought together they would have a complete restored M38A1.
The green one has the original engine and converted to 12 volt. 4 inch lift, and locking front tires. Tires in good shape and have 1 brand new spare.
The sanded one is the better body. All rust spots have been patched and welded up. Floor has been rhino lined. Original tires and have 6 spares with tubes. This one has the original seats. We are located in Lompoc California. Email would be gtimesxu@yahoo.com or jennburmester@rocketmail.com”
Dan pointed out this ad to me. I have always liked these ‘flattie’ type fenders for the CJ-5. I’ve never know if they were only an aftermarket product or came stock on some jeeps? Nice aluminum slot rims, too.
“my dad has a 1953 cj 5 jeep it has primer on and been lifted needs a motor set up for 350 chev or 327 has heavy duty bumper nice alum. wheels, take and finish your way for great rock crawler.. his # is 208-687-8907 or cell 208-691-8891 best to talk to him on phone , he knows more about then I do ask for Bob. ”
This appears to be a very good price on a running M-38a1. The rust doesn’t appear bad in the pics. I’d get some new seats covers (see Jim for some good prices) and you’d be set.
“This is a real M-38 army jeep, it purs like a kitten, the brakes and everthing work good, it has the army numbers still on it, just needs to be restored, or can be registered and driven every day, email or call 603-231-9169.”
This is an interesting jeep. One of the more unusual features, according to the sales blurb, is that it’s rigged to run on propane to reduce exhaust fumes, because it was run on a closed set for much of the filming. I have to wonder if it’s not a trademark violation for the seller to be using the Indian Jones label as shown …
“THIS IS THE ACTUAL 1954 WILLYS M38 THAT WAS USED IN THE MOST RECENT “INDIANA JONES” MOVIE. ANY CAR OR PROP USED IN A SPIELBERG MOVIE ARE NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE TO GET BECAUSE SPIELBERG WANTS THEM TO BE DESTROYED SO NO ONE CAN PROFIT OFF OF THEM. EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE ONE OF THESE RARE PROPS SLIPS THROUGH THE CRACKS….”
Yeah, it’s been chopped a bit in the rear end, but it looks like there’s some reasonable parts there (nice full cage, tires and rims). I’m sure it would be a fun little runabout vehicle.
“First $1800 in cash takes it! Turn key and go 4 wheeling today! Updates on this vehicle are: Tilt wheel and power steering. 2″ suspension lift. 4 new large shocks- Over $1,000 invested in wheels, tires, and brakes. This jeep is low geared for desert fun. It’s really not for the road because of the low gears. It has a factory air compressor from the military and an air hose line to the bumper for filling up tires if you have to let the air out. New muffler and tail pipe. High back bucket seats with 4 point harnesses. Every thing works, lights, brakes, and spot lights. Rebuilt carb and 4cyl. motor with 4 spd trans. Comes with 372 page laminated service manual book and have clean tile in hand. Call Louis @ 760-395-0542 or cell# 541-217-9415 ”
“1953 Willys M38A1,2300cc ford 4 clyinder engine, 35in. bucshot mudders, aluminum wheels, bikini top, needs battery but runs and drives good. Moved out of the country, must sell.”
Here’s a great price on a M-38A1 that includes an Overdrive. It is a project, but it has a variety of interesting parts, including some nice diamond plating, good roll cage and more.
“1956 Willys M38 A1 Project Jeep. $900. Clean title in hand, wont take too much to get her on the trail. Chevy 327 with newer Holly carb. T90 tranny. Dana 18 transfer case with twin stick. Warn overdrive. Dana 44 rear with 5.38 gears and welded spiders. Dana 25 front with 5.38 gears open with full time lock. but locking hubs are fairly cheap. Tilt steering column…..”
If this truly is a 1953, then I suspect this is a M-38a1, as I don’t *think* CJ-5s were manufactured prior to 1955. I like it because it sports what look like nice, old school slot aluminum rims which are hard to find. The body parts appear in good condition too. There might be some other good points also.
“I have a 1953 cj 5 project and need to make more room for race car stuff…lol….. I want 1200 cash or trade for the following (see craigslist ad) …. Arin. 509 863 8953… Best offer by sunday and it goes!!!!”
