Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. It runs and drives. It likely has the wrong engine, but looks like a good price.
“1942 Willys MB Military Jeep. F 134 engine, T-84 transmission, Dana 23-2 rear differential, Dana 25 front differential. Engine runs, brakes in working order, lights and wipers in working order. transmission needs rebuilt. New seats front and rear, new military gas tank, new shocks and good tires.”
This appears pretty solid, though the windshield is funky. There is no description. Auction will be held on June 11th at 8am?

It runs good, stops good it needs some cosmetic help.
“1943 Willys MB SAS desert raider style restored jeep. Desert tan painted authentic. Complete with 15 gas cans (’42German can), wooden vickers k mount in center and mount for dash. Original flathead 4cyl engine. New brakes, cooling and fuel system. Restored to David Sterling’s ‘L detachment 1st SAS. I have all the receipts for all the work done includiung new brake system, fuel lines, brake lines, rebuilt engine, british gas cans, new tires, ww2 gauges, etc. I did it with historical accuracy the best I could.”

This might be a rare find for the eastern folks, however there have been a few changes.
“1941 MB “SLATGRILL” Jeep; runs fine–we have owned this jeep for the past 30 years. Engine has all Babbit bearings. It is in good condition.”

(05/09/2011) It appears someone took a red jeep and sprayed it over with green (different shades actually as seen on the driver’s side fender). It doesn’t appears there was much prep. I think this looks like a flip job, as just enough was done to re-militarize it.
