It sounds like the seller knows some history about this flattie.

“1942 Willy’s MB Serial# 125537 directly from The Pacific theater. This is an older restoration showing wonderful patina on the paint with that “been there look”. No rust or holes in the usual places.. Engine block# is 220099 and has been previously rebuilt. 12 Volt system (alternator). Additionally, equipped with lifting rings front and rear. Perfect running condition. Vehicle has been fitted with a new carburetor, intake/exhaust manifolds, (NOS) complete exhaust, flywheel, Pressure plate, Clutch, throw out bearing, fork/linkage, new Transmission (Including Case) Rebuilt Transfer case, new Temp, oil pressure and ammeter gauges. (03/05/2009) “1942 jeep universal with original 4 cylinder engine and 3 speed 4×4. New steel body and engine overhaul in 1980’s. Used very little and garaged since the 1980’s. It could just be my imagination, but that body looks like it could has more of a swoop for the passenger entrance similar to a pre-MB.  This is worth a closer look.

Here’s a slatgrille that could stand to be dropped down.  The body and grille appear in good condition.  This might be salvageable.

This appears in good condition.

“1945 willy’s military mb jeep. Restoration project with many new or rebuilt parts including engine, transmission, transfer case , front & rear differentials. This jeep still needs a lot work to be complete.

This is an unfinished Project vehicle that is not registered and hasn’t been for over 20 years. Vin plate is attached to jeep, and there are no back fees. This Jeep is being sold as is for parts only. Buyer is responsible for registering through DMV.

Jeep runs and drives but will need to be trailered away.  Price is $3,000 firm, not negotiable unless you have something to trade worth more.  Please respond via this craigslist add.  Thanks for looking!!”
