This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. There’s been several mods to this vehicle. Note that the front tires are a little farther forward then they should be. Also, this is a 2wd vehicle. it appears to have a home-made tailgate? (see other pic)
“1942 Willys Jeep, CJ-2A, V6 Buick, automatic, 2wd, new tires, clean, clear title, current registration, and just runs great.
The paint job on this is pretty unusual. It looks like a tile mosaic. The top is in poor condition.
“Body, running equipment, and engine all excellent. Interior and top need work. Has a tow bar to pull it with and you will need a light bar for rear if going very far. If you want to drive it away bring top post battery.”

Here’s a good price on a complete, good looking MB.
“FOR SALE – 1945Willys Jeep: This is an older depot restoration with back lights and a tire rack that is not original. This jeep has newer canvas on the seats and working electrical system. The engine is strong and the transmission is smooth, this jeep runs great. The tub is not original, The jeep is located in santa rosa with a miliary vehicle company.”

I’m not sure what is funkier, the roll bar or the paint job. However, I don’t think the price is too bad given it runs.
“For sale is one Ford GPW World War Two, 4 Cylinder Jeep. Motor did/can run good no smoke. Needs some work to get it running. $1000.00 of new Jeep parts and VERY good Willys original rims/new non-directional military tires, 6 ply nylon included. Newly rebuilt orig Carter Carb and new fuel pump. 134 L-head Willys flat head four cyl. Lots of new parts that need installed. Or this jeep can be used as parts or a rebuilder from frame up. $1600.00 FIRM with $1000.00 new parts included. Serious inquiries only! Price has been lowered to minimum due to needing it moved from my backyard.”

It’s one of the cleanest jeeps around? I’d hate to see the dirty ones.

This ad includes links to a variety of upclose images. I think it gives a pretty honest look at the vehicle (wish all ads were this good).
“1942 Willy’s Jeep (flat fender) with Chevy 350 engine, new Borg Warner T150 transmission, Advanced adapter plate to engine/bell housing, transfer case bearings new, new battery & Quadrajet carburator, fuel filter & line. The engine has double hump 2.02″ heads and I was told it was out of a ‘70’s Corvette. The tires have a ton of tread on them and look like they’re very new. The motor turns over easily and idles just like a V8 should. This Jeep is setup well with Saginaw power steering, line locker parking brake and 2 jerry can 5 gallon fuel can holders. Since it’s a Military Jeep, it’s also got the shovel storage on the driver’s side.”
This seller thinks he’s got CJ-2A grilles, but they are really MB grilles. I count 3 grilles, plus a fender and a tailgate. Check out the ad for specific prices. These are located way up on the tip of the Olympic Peninsula.

“1943 MB tub and frame, 1945 MB motor, transmission and transfer case. not a complete restoral, but well on the way. Runs well, looks good, needs finishing touches. No back seat or canvas top, but has top bows and hardware, original gas tank sealed with POR-15, 6 volt system, with original generator and regulator. New tires on 16″ rims (not combat rims) Oregon title ( had to title as 1947 willys, because that is what the Idaho title said when I bought the tub and frame in Coulee Wa. howevever, the frame and tub are original 1943, as well as the engine) Will consider straight across trade for motor home of same value”
I’m assuming this is a 1945 MB based on the title of the forum. I found these pics from a spanish website I stumbled across called Willys Argentina. I thought they had a pretty cool logo, so I’ve included a copy of that. There’s plenty more pics and information about Flatties.
