“This wagon has no rust! All windows are in perfect shape. All lights and switches work minus the fuel gauge and speedometer. It has a 327 SBC V8 engine that starts right up with zero smoke. It has a 4 barrel carb. Power brakes. Power steering. 350 automatic transmission. Front disk brakes. An updated rear end but unsure of make. This thing was done correctly by an older gentlemen and built as a cruiser. It has dual straight pipes. GM steering column. No headers or loud exhaust. It is a great driver just the way it is. New tires. It’s not perfect or I would be asking 15k for it.

“Selling both projects–together or separate. CJ3a has small block ford engine with Allstate Ramsey PTO winch, and original 4 wheel drive with dualmatic hubs. I believe its a 1951. The Willys Truck is a 1950 1/2 and is a 2 wd has the L134 engine and needs the radiator. The transmission will need to be rebuilt. The tailgate is the original Willys Overland logo, this alone is highly sought after as well as the fenders and hood. They do not make them like this anymore. Running with the Patina look is currently going at 25000 plus!! The CJ3a is going for 500 and the Truck for 500. Take them both for 900. Let me know if interested. I am in Corpus Christi but will meet to show.”

“I have lost all free time and ability to finish this project. I absolutely do not want to sell it, but I’m moving in a couple months and i know it won’t get done. This jeep came from California. Ran, parked for 1,000 years and then brought to Colorado to this garage.
The everything on the frame and body is as i received it. The frame was modified way back in the day. I was going to remake a frame. I can’t answer much more then what you can see in the photos.

2009 Jeep JKU D30/D44 axles with 3.73 gears (tubes tack welded to make chassis roll)
2020 Jeep Gladiator Wheels + Tires
Rubicon express YJ Lift kit springs and shackle plates (was going to remove some springs for better ride height)

The June 24, 1944, issue of the Detroit Tribune shared the below caption and photo. I do with the picture is better. I was unable to discover any more about George Carr or the Jeep. Because the text is hard to read, I’ve transcribed it below.
YES, YOU’RE WRONG AGAIN!–But you’re correct when you say it’s a Jeep. The model of the famous 1/4 ton Army vehicle Brough two first prizes to Private George Carr, of Des Moines, Iowa, Negro member of a Quartermaster Trucking Company of the 13th Army Air Force at an “Ingenuity Contest” sponsored by the American Red Cross in New Caledonia, South Pacific. About one-twentieth the size of a real Jeep, this model has a hood that raises and latches, real springs, transmission, and rear differential, a windshield which may be raised and lowered, and a steering gear that actually moves the front wheels.
