About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

The seller notes that 1955 was the first year Warn offered the five-ring warn hubs. Actually, they (both the locking and the automatic hubs) were offered as early as 1953, according to at least two different ads. One 1953 ad (note the Feb 1953 Motor Trend Magazine for example was a full blown brochure, while this 1953 ad below was included in the September 1953 Popular Science magazine:
All that said, and back to the original purpose of this post, the wagon looks nice, though it does have an updated engine.
“For sale or trade. I am gunsmith so primary interest is firearms but no harm in asking. This is a great Willys that can be driven just the way it is or you can pursue additional restoration. Everything works, 4×4, factory Warn hub locks (first year those were offered), overdrive, front and rear PTO with a winch on the front bumper. Dual fuels tanks. Older paint still looks good, just not shiny. Seats were all just rebuilt (foam and covering) in a canvas looking modern material. Less than 200 miles on a completely rebuilt and balanced Chevy L6 250 with MSD Distributor and Electronic Ignition. Starts and hums along very smoothly. Steering is vintage and next on my restore list if I keep it. Need $12500 in cash or trade value to consider parting with this fun rig.”
(01/04/2020) This modified CJ-2A with the truck-like addition is road ready. The body appears to have some kind of body liner on it.
“Great condition no rust
Vehicle came from las Vegas
Has about 50 miles on the rebuilt 2.2 engine. 3 speed transmission and 2 speed transfer case. Original 2a frame professionally stretched. Only reason I’m selling is I’m ready for a new project. I have owned it for over 5 years. I have over 12k invested just in parts.
Cash price 11k or trade of equal value. Let me know what you have and let’s make a deal. Main interest would be skid steer or wrecked jk”
“1946 Willys Jeep project. This jeep has a current non-op, clean title and the VIN matches the title. 283 V-8 Chevy engine. Propane fuel, Hydromatic transmission. It was running when parked. Sold as is – where it is. No offers – this price is firm at $1000. Cash only, no trades. Snow Plow included.”
“Willys jeep 3.8 v6, auto trans, up graded axles, limited slip diff, best you can buy, disc brakes- all through billy bobs off road in edgewood… Warren wench, high lift jack, off road harness, power brakes, power steering, tilt wheel, bose stereo, roll bar, lights off road, on board air w/holding tank, interior lites, extra top, bikini top, half doors, water proof trunk, rear rack holds a lot of weight, locking hubs, all gauges, automatic trans, two extra transfer cases,”
I suspect there’s been some body work on that passenger side. It also looks like the rear of the tool box floor drops below the passenger side body edge. I can’t tell why that might be (see last pic).
