About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“1959 CJ six. This is not a CJ5 as it has a longer wheelbase. You must buy the entire jeep for parts. Includes everything you see in the pictures. Body is very rusty. Frame seems OK. Transfer case and transmission seem OK. Original steel rims. Engine is taken apart. Radiator and original gas tank is there. All for 600 bucks. No title. Parts only.”
Florida’s Tampa Bay Times published an article about local mobile businesses a couple weeks ago. One of those businesses included a beautiful 1964 FJ-3A ice cream truck, run by Carlos Velez: The Clara Rose Ice Cream Truck.
Before he opened his business, Carlos worked as a Sheriff’s deputy at a maximum security jail. Wanting a change of life, he decided to open an ice cream business, but one that was of a better quality than the standard ice cream distributors. That led him to search for an FJ. He found the perfect one and it’s a beautiful rig as you can see below.
There’s a proposal to create a national registry for unique or historically significant vehicles (and boats and planes) with documented stories. Importantly, such a registry would not keep the owners of such vehicles from being sold, driven or even modified. The Library of Congress would be the keeper of the documents, specs, photos, and other information.
Neither the hood nor the tailgate have a Willys script, so the tub seems to be newer than 1960. The top appears to be for a CJ-5. Not that the steps have been modified and the drain hole removed.
“1960 Willys Jeep CJ3B
Runs and Drives
Has overhead Valve original engine and running gear
Needs Master Cylinder
Jeep is complete
Has aftermarket Cab (maybe Sears)”
Body has some rust and at least one floor patch. I haven’t seen the front loop of a roll cage attach to a dash with just one bolt on each side like this one.
“1962 Willys Jeep CJ5 Dept. of Agriculture Forest Service Brush Truck 6. I do not have documented proof that this was an original fire Jeep but if it wasn’t someone went thru a lot of trouble to make it one. Starts, runs, stops and drives well. Prior to my ownership it appears to have been re-wired and a new generator was installed.
1953 Jeep Willy’s cj3b cj3-b flat fender high hood. First year civilian Jeep. Complete custom, one of a kind. 327 Chevy small block V-8 paired with bulletproof off-road 4 speed chevy manual tranny. 4×4. 4-inch lift all the way around. 35 inch super swampers on new 15 inch wheels with plenty of tread life. 4 wheel disc brakes with booster recently added. Stops on a dime with ease. El Camino seats, s.s.
Fuel cell under rear seat. Bimini top, aluminum doors, black diamond plate with matte black finish. Sony head unit, 2 speakers in box center console. 10k lb warn winch with remote. Warn hubs. Brand new flow master exhaust, sounds amazing! No rust, no leaks! Doesn’t overheat. Fires right up first try. Optimum battery less than 1 yr old. Auto meter gauges, everything works! Can run this Jeep 55-60 mph on highway and steer with 1 finger. Or take it off-road for some fun. Tons of attention and thumbs up. Draws a crowd when fueling every time. Not perfect by any means, but a very cool, super solid, loads of fun, classic Jeep. Come check it out. Continue reading →
