“I have what seems to be a New Haven CT highway dept. or DPW jeep hard top and doors as well as a hood, tailgate, windshield frame and grill. the hardtop is in decent shape, all of the glass is perfect accept for a one of the small rear windows. The hard doors have glass intact and crank up and down. The windshield frame is in very good condition but the glass is cracked in the middle. the top has roof rails and an orange flasher on top.”

“Looking to sell my 1942 Ford GPW project jeep. Attached are photos of it together whole, and in parts (its current state). I’ve invested a lot of time and money into this project, and unfortunately my new job doesn’t allow me much time to work on my project. Looking to get out of the project while I still can and to make back some of the money I invested into it. Here’s the list of everything I have:
-primed GPW frame with the axles still attached, it is sitting on MB leaf springs, and I have extra leaf springs in the garage. Ive got the drive shafts too

“*1941 Willy’s Jeep (with the star) – $5,500.00. Runs good. All of the gears work – 4wd and differential lock. New battery.
*1946 Willy’s Jeep – $3,000.00. Runs good but has a hairline crack in the head. This was a project we started but did not have time to finish. Brakes work good. Just did timing and cleaned all valves. New coil and new battery. Would be a great project and will clean up very nicely!!

I had some kind of intestinal issue yesterday, so I spent most of the time in bed. Looking for something interesting to watch on TV, I ran across a documentary called The Ghost Army, which talks about the top-secret unit charged with creating distractions, illusions, and more. I’d heard of the story, but never saw the video.
I watched the film via Amazon Prime; I can’t find it anywhere online, but I did find this short introduction to the Ghost Army video:
Here are some images showing how the group tried to make a jeep into a tank, but that turned out to be a failure. Instead, they turned to blow-up rubber tanks.

Vandegrift, Commandant of the United States Marine Corps, recently made a four-day inspection tour of the Marine Corps training base at Camp Lejeune, New River, North Carolina. It was his first visit since he became commandant and the first trip back there since he left it in the Spring of 1942 to lead the Marine assault forces that drove the Japanese out of the Solomon Islands.
