Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This 2-page Car for all the People ad was featured in the Saturday Evening Post on December 21, 1946, pages 56 and 57. You’ll notice the ad has “Makers of America’s Most Useful Vehicles” phrase (the prequel phrase to “The World’s Most useful Vehicles”). it also has a Willys-Overland badge. I’m working on documenting when that bade comes and goes.
On the cover the magazine was a Main Street Christmas scene that included, at the bottom right, a tree tied to the top of a jeep.

Need some work. Has an f-head. Can anyone indentify the branding on the front hubs? Kind of looks like Speedo or something similar.

“1947 Willys CJ2A, F Head 4 cyl from a 1955 Jeep, T90 3 spd, Dana 18, Dana 25 frt, 41 rear with 5.38 gears. New battery, carb, spare transmission and transfer case and driveshafts, brand new tires and wheels, new seats, brand new Rancho 1” lift springs, have original windshield and factory wheels, roll bar. Was going to restore it but am going a different direction. It’s a project but it’s close. Tub not rusted out just a little dented here and there. $4,000 obo.”
