The chassis is mid-50s Wagon with the L6-226 flathead engine.
Original 12V generator system
Transmission and transfer case are standard T-90 and D-18
Rear axle has coil, overload springs added for greater payload.
Stake bed is a hydraulic tilt bed – PTO driven. It’s a well done, home made job. and it works.
Dual exhaust stacks are obviously home made.
Good tires and a non-matching spare
Rear window glass cracked
Driver window cracked – may have a spare
Windshield good
Lights work
Engine needs head gasket – purchased but not yet installed
Needs fuel pump – also purchased but not yet installed.
We’ll knock $100 off if you want to do those yourself.

“1948 Willy’s CJ2A project. This is a project that I bought 10 years ago and haven’t finished. Chassis was stripped, sandblasted, and epoxy primered. Motor has been completely rebuilt. I have all the original body pieces such as the tailgate, windshield, seats, etc. I had hat channels custom made for under the body to mount to the frame. Frame is rolling with engine and tranny sitting in it. Body pieces are sitting throughout my shop. If interested text me and I will send pics.”
UPDATE: Still Available.
(01/24/2019) Has an odd hole punched in the dash near the parking brake lever. It might have an f-head.

“Rare Jeep extendabed. Fit older CJ Willys Jeeps. $150.00 or B/O. Would like to sell before it gets covered up with snow.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $9500.
“Barn find – Vehicle comes with several areas of rust and has not run in several years by all appearances. The bones are there, but it does require a lot of work to get to daily driving again.
This is a project vehicle. It is currently in non running condition and in my opinion will require an upgraded drive train (possibly inline 6 from a newer Jeep) as the current setup does not seem to be in running condition. No transfer box present. Would make an excellent finished project, but will require work.
Vehicle comes with bill of sale, but not title present. Bonded title would be the best option.”
Mark shared a story about the death of Bertha Durpe, one of the few women who served with the 6888th CPD Battalion, an All-Black WAC unit that went overseas to help the war effort. The photo below doesn’t show the former Master-Sergeant Dupree, but it’s still a neat photo.
You can read a little about Ms. Dupree here: https://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/local/article226817444.html
More on the 6888th:
Mike shared this older photo of what could be a jeep ‘dressed’ in a sponge. Anyone know any history about it? The photo is supposed to be from 1964.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $275.
Roger Martin shared this unusual toy. If it is handmade, it is well done.
“Very high quality HANDMADE toy army jeep. All steel construction. This thing is rough and rugged. Has toggle switch to turn on the headlights, battery compartment under hood. Steering wheel actually turns the wheels. Windshield folds down. Has detachable plow and trailer. This thing is nice and one of a kind. I took it to a couple antique shops and they all told me they believe it has a higher price tag than what I’m asking. There just isn’t another like it to base true value off of. Asking $275 ”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $602.
(01/18/2019) Maury spotted this unusual print/illustration. From the description, I can’t quite tell if this is a print or an original illustration. The size is roughly 2.2′ x 3.25′
