“Here is an excellent example of a restored 1948 CJ- 2A Jeep 4 x 4 built by Willy’s/Overland.  Vehicle was found in a barn in the early 2000’s and completed in 2006.  Body and paint work were performed by Rick Renshaw in Easton MD.  Color is a urethane Vermont green by Ford.  Everything on the Jeep is either rebuilt or new from the gas tank, fuel lines, brakes and hardware to the rebuilt differentials and leaf springs.

The Jeep has always been garage kept since restoration was completed and there appears to be no rust or rot anywhere.  Paint is in excellent condition.

The ‘L-head’ 134 cu. in. /60 h.p. 4-cylinder engine is original as well as the T90 3-speed transmission and were totally rebuilt.  The drive line has less than 1000 miles since completion.

Interior cushions were done in leather for comfort and the top, rear, and side curtains are new in the original canvas material with stenciling.  The Willy’s Jeep was totally rewired and remains a 6-volt system (new battery).  The gauges all work except for the fuel.  Owner believes it is the sending unit.

Tires are the the original style 6.00 x 16”.
Selling for personal reasons.”

(04/18/2017) Has a rear PTO.

“This Jeep is unique. Originally exported to Sweden in 1951 and somehow found its way back to California.
Copy of the Swedish import papers included, plus article in a Swedish Jeep magazine about it.
Working rear power take-off (used for various farm implements).

Per the serial number, engine is 1943 WWII Ford GPW. Starts right up and runs good. Everything works. Known issues: transmission pops out of second gear when decelerating, leaks oil from rear main seal in engine, and will overheat when outside temperature is very high. Driven regularly just the way it is. Sold as-is.
please email phone number and I will call you.”

“1941 Ford GP # 9223. The 1941 Ford GP, as well as the Bantam BRC and Willy’s MA were pre-WW2 limited production models, often labeled as “prototypes” which developed into the common WW2 GPW and MB. The production of the Ford GP, which is very unique to itself, was approximately 4500 units with most going overseas. It is estimated that only a few hundred of the GP’s exist today, most of which are in the hands of collectors. Of the total, it is estimated that less than 100 are restored, with the vast majority of the balance being as non-restorable and in dire condition.
