Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This is an original 1962 USMC M38A1 Radio Jeep S/N 87346
This Jeep was used by the Civil Air Patrol for many years
It is complete and original except for the Bubba Roll Bar
It sat neglected for many years and rust has taken its toll
This is a good Jeep for parts I doubt it’s worth restoration, but that’s up to the Buyer.
Everything under the hood is about as original as they come, unfortunately the Engine is stuck
All fording and 24-volt Equipment is intact.
Radiator holds water and antifreeze was present in block.
This year model has the Locking Front and Rear Differentials.
The Jeep alone in parts is worth the Buy it Now price, but I’m open to offers.
I do have the 4 original wheels and a good transferable VA Title that matches Data plates

(07/01/2023) While it has three doors, according to the seller it does not appear to be a hyrail or Fairmont build. So, the history of it isn’t clear.

“Clean WV Title. Has been vin inspected in KS. I didn’t get the title in KS because I’d have to register it. 1956 CJ3B. Gone through, not restored. Runs. Compression was 100-115 #4 being the lowest. Rebuilt carb. Tub is welded back together and solid, not pretty at all lots of new parts. Frame is good front to back. Needs a drivers seat and brakes all the way around. Transmission, high and low and 4×4 works as it should, but i haven’t driven it too far or fast as there are no brakes. New gas tank 5 new tires/tubes as of 4 months ago New gauges Fuel line is needs installed new radiator and hoses new battery new wipers w/motor New windshield Spare rim”

Runs and drives, but is a project. The “top” or cover looks to be made of fiberglass. I don’t know if this was a one-off or not, but I could see this being popular with the folks jeeping in the desert back in the day (much lighter than a Muller Top for example).

“For sale is a pair of Willys Go-Devil engines. One is a military unit in a generator, the other appears to be from a CJ. The yellow one is stuck but may be repairable. The blue one was rebuilt when purchased several years ago. They come with some accessories seen in the pics like starter, distributors, oil pump, fans, flywheel, timing cover etc. $450 each or $750 for the pair.”
