About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Jeep is in pieces but all acounted for: this year model features the high hood, twon stick transfer case, hard top with sides and the hard top. Engine turns over fine by hand.”
(03/20/2018) Lots of mods here. It includes a WARN OD.
“Offered for sale is this 1948 Willys Jeep CJ2A. The Willys has a Buick V6 conversion that runs and drives great. The vehicle also has a GM SM420 transmission conversion that works excellent. It is equipped with a granny low gear and a Dana 18 transfer case w/ Warn Overdrive. 4-Wheel High and Low both function properly as well. The axle’s are Dana 44 front and rear. The suspension, axles, and part of donor frame have been welded to the original/existing frame. As one can see from the photos the body is a little rough but as stated above the vehicle runs and drives. This vehicle could crawl off road trails right now or could be a great blank canvas for someone to build on. The vehicle has a clean CA title. Off road use only. No plates or reg. Asking only $3,500!”
One place I’ve yet to reach is Russell’s Travel Center, a gas stop on historic Route 66 along I-40, exit 369, Glen Rio, New Mexico. Don recently stopped in their to take photos of their 1948 CJ-2A, along with some other vehicles. This year, on my return trip, I plan to stop and see it!
UPDATE: Jalopnik published this story in March 2017 that gives more background to photos Charles forwarded back in 2015 (see pics below). I couldn’t find much info on the trip pat the time.
“1951 Willys, stock axles, transmission, transfer case. Tilt wheel, power steering, Buick Dauntless V6 225 OddFire, brand new 11″ upgraded brakes front and rear, runs great, really nice condition, have full top and doors.”
“1959 Jeep Willys Overland Pickup. All original drive 70k miles, Hurricane 6 engine, Warn Hubs, Dana Axles. Clear coat peeling and rust in lower door panels. To many projects need to sell.”
“*** Super Rare*** 1959 Jeep FC170 runs and drives street legal. Clean CA title in hand. Moving across country don’t want to tow all the way there. Fires right up, decent condition. I bought two years ago and drove it home from 2 hours away. She leaks oil, just needs seals replaced. I wouldn’t suggest driving long distances but could work with you on transportation cost, or possible delivery if not insanely out of the way. Great project truck!”
(03/10/2018) “47 Willys hot rod project. There’s been a lot of hours put into the project to get it where it is. It’s a custom frame S10 front clip with disc brakes. Chevy 10 bolt rear end. Complete air bag setup tanks and compressor hooked up. Fuel cell steering hooked up. Brakes are hooked up. New floor and firewall on cab. Have pictures all the way through the project give me a call if you have any questions no motor or transmission!!!!!”
