Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This is a 1951 M38 Jeep. This vehicle has never been civilianized – it is still 24 volt. This is being sold as a project vehicle. The floors in this Jeep are solid. We did some of the major repairs here to present a running vehicle. This includes a new brake system (master cyl, wheel cyls, steel lines), new fuel tank, new steel fuel line set, a tune up, two new batteries, rebuilt carburetor and other small details. We also added new glass in the Windshield and brand new canvas seat cushions. ”
This “Seeing’s Believing!” ad was published on July 06, 1947, in the Wilmington Morning Star. I wish all the scanned newspaper ads came out this clear.
This ad for the Willys Mighty Farm Jeep and an associate demonstration was published in the Henderson, NC, Daily Dispatch on April 13, 1946.
