This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1946 Jeep CJ2A with refinished tub and electrical system. Runs on International engine with Go Devil 3 speed transmission (high and low). Needs a little love and attention but will run. Seller is motivated and willing to negotiate. $5000 OBO”

(12/14/2018) Listed as a ’46, the serial number of 207201 and the grille suggest it’s more like a late 1948 CJ-2A.
“Army clone 1946 Jeep Willy’s CJ2A. Jeep has recently undergone a body off restoration and in our opinion considered a good amateur restoration. The frame looks to be very solid and completely intact. The body looks straight and there are a few panels inside the tub that have some minor dings to be expected for the age. The floor pans look good and solid. There are a few patches that have been made under the seat storage area that are not seen unless the storage area panel is accessed.
Over all the jeep shows very well, started right up, gears shifted and appears to be ready to go. The Jeep is a 3 speed manual shift 4WD 60HP “go devil” 4 cylinder and has a top speed of about 50 MPH. The original wheels are paired up with brand new firestone military tires to appear period correct. The odometer shows 9.6 miles since the restoration however the title currently shows 2800 Miles non Actual.”

(09/11/2018) Listed as a 1954, it looks like a CJ-2A. Doesn’t run. Has the Sears deluxe top. I can’t tell what hubs this has.

Mark alerted me to a scam by a guy named William Cameron. Mark said William called him up claiming he had an FC-150, just what Mark was looking to buy. All Mark had to do was wire him a down payment. Long story short, it was a scam.
It turns out William Cameron is a regular scam artist. He’s even been in jail for it, though no prison time. So, if he calls you, tell him to where he can go ….
Here’s what Mark wrote me:
“He calls, says he has exactly what you need. Sounds very old, but when googling him you find he is only in his 50’s. Same scam always for the most part and he has gone to jail for it. Tells you he can not take any pics. Tells you everything a buyer would ever want to hear. His price is dirt cheap and he says all he needs is a deposit and says you can send the rest later. All the while he is coughing and sounding very old and he says he is retiring to Arizona. Google his name or number along with the words “Craigslist scam” and you would see he has taken advantage of many people.”

“I have two Willy’s Overland Jeepster (1948 and 1949) willing to sell. Frame on one is in great shape as well as the body. The original 4-cyl engine (go devil motor) is not seized. Also includes original 3 speed transmission. Willing to negotiate the sale of both. Original title for Jeepster that is primed. Looking to get $3500 for both.”
