“1946 Willys CJ2A Jeep for sale! restored to WWII military livery. Post-WWII, the simple yet iconic all-wheel drive GP, or General Purpose Vehicle, remained in production by Willys with the model designation CJ2A. This Willys has it all. Roll cage, electric wipers, new top, great tires/rims and more custom items. Very clean for a post war vehicle. This is a surviver to the fullest ready for the next adventure. There are some engine issues which are stated below. Hate to sell it but have many vehicles in my collection and this one is going to a new home. The Willys is located in Valley Center at my other mechanics house and he will be fielding all the inquiries and has all the knowledge to show it. He’s a great friend and master mechanic. Here are the details:
Body and undercarriage restoration, very clean. Replacement early 50’s willy’s engine. Lifted and new tires. Three speed. New interior and top, with optional bikini top and car cover. Seat belts and parking brake added.
Clean california registration.
Vintage 1946 plates, approved through CA DMV with 2024 tags. Odometer says 54,000 but there is many more miles on this 50’s motor. Has only 500 after it was all restored.

Here are the issues: The engine threw a rod and my mechanic James from James Automotive down in Barrio Logan inspected and here is his diagnosis.
It’s a F Head jeep engine from the early/mid ‘50’s.
Combines a flat head with an overhead valve.
The piston in the front cylinder basically disintegrated for some reason. Connecting rod as well. And badly damaged that cylinder.
To fix you need to take engine out. Disassemble it. Rebore the cylinder. Put a new sleeve in that cylinder. Replace the oil pump, which could have caused all of this. New gaskets and seals.
Then put it all back together and back into the Willys.”

2 Wagons Caldwell, ID $6500

Neither have engine or trans, but the green wagon looks like a promising restoration or run as is once engine/trans installed project.

“Two 1961 Willys Wagons, Green one is very complete minus motor and trans, has rust but has Idaho title. Orange one is a much better body but is lacking motor, trans and interior. Has some paperwork, but no title. Have both ft & rear bumpers and a spare dash. My plans were to build one from both donors. Plans changed. $6500 for both:

1977 J-24 Mitsubishi Hudson, NH **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3B • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: Blaine reports this sold for $6800.

Blaine shared this J-24 that’s being auctioned on Bring a Trailer. It appears solid, but has enough dings to make it a practical little work vehicle. Current high bid is $5750. This ends early Friday morning. The vehicle is untitled.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1977-mitsubishi-jeep-3/

“Various Jeep models based on the CJ-3B body style were produced and built by Mitsubishi in Japan under license from Willys between 1973 and 1997. Rust repairs were reportedly carried out before the exterior of this example was covered in a black spray-on bedliner material, and the pickup conversion included the addition of wood side stakes as well as planks along the B-pillars. Inward-facing bench seats are also present in the bed, and additional exterior details include a Mitsubishi logo above the seven-slot grille, a pintle hitch, and a tan soft top in addition to fender-mounted side mirrors and indicators. Corrosion is visible near the right side step and tailgate hinge.”

Just a few updates today’s , as we spent the day in Seattle and returned to find one of our dogs having locked herself in our garage (for who knows how long) … she was a bit traumatized …

This British “Baby Buggy Video” is an edited version of the Ford video that introduces the Ford GPs to the world, so much of the video may look familiar:

M-18 Warn Hub Dash Sticker

• CATEGORIES: Features • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Josh is looking for a reproduction of the rare orange Warn dash sticker below, though his original one (damaged in a fire) was blue

Does anyone know of any reproductions or even a quality image that he could get reproduced? Josh explains things below ….

warn-dash-sitcker-m16-hubs

The blue one below is apparently similar, but, like the one above, his did not include a reference to “Warn MFG CO” at the bottom).

These are examples of M16 hubs (he has M18 hubs).

Josh wrote: “I’m hoping you might have run across a locking hub dash sticker like the one attached at some point. My 1956 GMC NAPCO 4×4 had WARN model WL-15828 hubs, which are more commonly referred to as M18’s. My truck had a dash sticker ( actually it was inside the glovebox door ) that was identical to the orange image I attached [ed note … the image at top], except that it was printed in a medium blue color. I believe this type of sticker to be the predecessor to the more commonly seen type with the illustration of the WARN style locking dial. This particular sticker that I’ve attached a picture of was in an NOS set of hubs for a heavy duty IHC that was dated from 1956 or 57, as I recall.

Anyway, I’m hoping someone has this sticker and I can get it reproduced. I believe it to be the correct sticker for any WARN model hubs that predate the addition of the raised stamped area where the “M” series model number is typically stamped. That was added some time around 1965 or 1966 as best I can tell. As an example, I’ve attached a picture of  what are typically referred to as M16 hubs, also a late 50’s NAPCO 1/2 ton application, but the one without the raised stamp area would have been stocked under the part number WL-54-21 originally.

My truck was severely damaged in a forest fire. Otherwise I’d go scan my own sticker and get it reproduced. Eventally I’d like to resurrect my truck, and this is a detail I want to be faithful to.”
