Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. It’s a project. Number on frame matches data tag.
“Here we have a original WW2 slat grill jeep. DOD 12/12/41. has been in storage for many years. CLEAN FLORIDA TITLE. Is very complete and will need total restoration. HAVE ORIGINAL DATA PLATES.Very low serial number 103907. There jeeps are very hard to find and after restoration demand big money.
Also with this jeep are many spares like two jeep motors, generators,starters,carbs,and a spare body, transfer case and transmission parts. Extra fenders ,hoods and windshield frames. Even with the engine out this looks like a good price (unless there’s a lot of rust in the floors. Includes a solid looking Kelly Cab.

“1946 jeep willys rat rod. has a buick 350 and a th350 trans automatic. Is a lot of fun and gets a lot of looks and comments. motor is strong and runs good. drives good to, unless your on a bumpy road. it still has jeep leaf spring suspension. Has new radiator, alternator, plugs, wires, distributer, brakes, calibers, gauges… the bad, wont shift into 3rd gear. ive been running it without it. shifts fine in first, second, reverse. runs 60 to 65 no problem. To me that’s fast enough in this thing. would consider trades. let me kno. worst I could say is no. I also have a front bumper for it. just havnt put it on yet.”

Has some updates.
“I have for sale a 1952 Willys CJ3A Jeep with a 3 speed transmission and a Chevy 4.3 V6.
It has a new tub, fenders and grill from Kaiser willys.
All new gauges with sending units.
New wiring harness.
Rebuilt Chevy 4.3 V6 with less than 500 miles.
Engine had a Edelbrock Performance 4 barrel carb and aluminum intake manifold.
MSD coil on distributor ignitions system.
Relocated oil filter.
New performance 3 row aluminum radiator.
New thermostat and water pump.
New Flex-a-lite 2500cfm fan.
Rebuilt T90 3speed and transfer case
Samurai axles front and rear with disc brakes in front.
Optima battery
Electric fuel pump with new fuel tank.
I have a binder full of receipts on the original build that nearly exceed the asking price. Not to mention the time that has been invested. Only issues I would address would be to re-gear the Jeep or install an aftermarket overdrive to have a slight lower RPM while cruising on 2 lane roads. Also the front drive shaft needs to be hooked up, due to a clearance issue. Otherwise this is and excellent show winning vehicle that could be a great weekend driver! Only selling to pay off some debt and get my shop in order for future projects.

(04/15/2017) Seller notes it needs some body work.
“Runs and drives like new. Rebuilt engine with 171 miles on it. Have title and all receipts.
New items include:
Brakes, brake lines and hoses
Master cylinder
Starter motor and button
Battery and cables
Oil, temp, fuel,volt meter, and speedo
Spark plugs and cables
Fuel tank and sending unit
Wiring harness
Alternator (12 volt conversion)
Turn signal switch and signals (street legal)
Water pump
Clutch
Wheel axles
Headlights, switch, and bezels
Hood catches
Shocks
Tires, on sand blasted and painted wheels
Engine block repainted
All hoses, lines, seals, cables, and belts
We also have the original canvas top and hardware. Needs bodywork, paint, seat covers, and probably new windshield frame to be like new.”
This ran when parked, but no longer has a battery (or at least a good battery), so in its present state it doesn’t not run and drive (it might with a battery). The body is fiberglass.

Was a NJ Turnpike jeep.
“Was a NJ Turnpike vehicle, still has the sticker on the dash. 4 cylinder overhead valve engine, 3 speed. Engine runs very well. It drives, stops and steers. Have an extra cab, cab front, basically the grill, cab corners. Also have a rare 4 speed trans and extra transfer case. 4 extra wheels, total of 3 seats and 3 dashes. Brakes appear to have been redone, the master cylinder still needs to be rebuilt. The big prize is an excellent Windshield and tailgate is in great shape. $2600”
