“1961 Press Photo Army’s New Davy Crockett Atomic Warhead on Jeep Launcher. This is an original press photo. Washington, January 1 – New atomic weapon displayed – The Army tonight released this first picture of the warhead of its new atomic Davy Crockett weapon and said it would be carried by one man. Here the bulbous shaped warhead is on a launcher mounted on a jeep. The Army declined to give the weight of the device, which is intended t give a small unit of troops the fire power usually possible only from massed heavy artillery. Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches. Photo is dated 01-01-1961.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $150.

Paul spotted this hi-compression head designed for high altitude engines. As I understand it, the “High Altitude” option had a higher compression ratio of 7.4:1, compared with the stock ratio of 6.9:1.

“Hi compression Hi altitude Head for the tough Hurricane 4 motor . It is complete with valve train and has been freshly resurfaced . If you spend time up on the rim or any other place where altitude could be an issue for full performance then this is the answer for you .

It’s a 3 speed manual trans with manual steering, brakes, and 4×4. The tires are 32 inch bfg all terrains and are in great shape.”

Tim posted this chassis with a Parkette racing body on it. Price Unknown. Has anyone run across a Parkette racing shell like this in the PNW (with the solid back on top and a dash that rolls down, then curves with the sides? I bet this one came out of Georgia when Paul Parker moved back there, but that’s just a guess.

Nice looking jeep. It’s missing the rear bow holder and the passenger side reflector, but those are minor quibbles.

“We are selling our 1946 Willis CJ2a Jeep that has been fully restored. It is in original condition and has been cleaned up from the frame up. It has new tires, wiring, gauges, rag top, 8volt electrical system, overhauled transmission etc. This is in very good condition and only has a few miles on it since the restoration. “Lead the Parade! This is a beautiful 1962 Willy’s CJ5 Fire Chief Jeep. Very clean. Clean title. Get comments and thumbs up everywhere it goes. Starts and runs very well. Light and siren are fully operational. New back seat and seat belts. It also has beautiful gold leaf graphics on its fire engine red paint. The interior has been sprayed with a color matched bedliner for additional protection. The only work it will require is a new emergency brake cable.”
