Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. 4th owner of this jeep lived most of its life in SC
Body was restored in 2008 with new windshield frame and radiator core support.
Flat head 4 cyl.
Transmission rebuilt in 2008 along with new clutch.
Tub interior is rhino lined dark red.
Wood floor layed in tub.
Seats reupholstered
Updated to 12V system in 2009
Suspension was replaced in 2010
New radiator in 2015
It runs and drives but it is a jeep
I just don’t have time to drive it anymore and I need to pass the fun onto someone who does.”

“CJ2A Willys Jeep, this is a very nice, clean, rust free Willys, but it still needs some finishing touches before it’s drivable. 225 v6/ TH400 auto out of a 71 Commando, dana 30 front, custom made ford 9″ rear 3.50 ratio. New 2.5 lift, new 35″x15.50×15 super swampers, new American racing wheels. Needs to have entire brake system plumbed, needs fuel tank to be put back in along with some other minors things. I do not have a title, price is firm. I bought this years ago out of a barn where it sat for 40 years, its a great find with a lot of nice upgrades already done.”

This 4″ Walt Disney gem hunter’s decal is on eBay (I offered $20, seller countered with $25). Apparently, this may have been tangentially connected to the Mineral King project. Unbeknownst to me, in late 1965 Disney was awarded the right to develop the Mineral King area of Sequoia National Park. Originally, this area was at the edge of the park, but now the NP encompasses that valley and more. It’s a pretty interesting story. Fun fact: The Country Bear Jamboree was originally designed for Mineral King. The Audio-Animatronic bears were planned as entertainers for one of the restaurants.

“Jeep CJ-3B project, engine and transmission out, same with steering. No tailgate, no title. I bought it a over a year ago thinking I would build it and I’m no longer interested. Comes with aluminum half-top, will not part out. What you see if what you get. Had a PTO on it. It was a trench-a-jeep.”
